I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Early Shift, came in at 7am left about 2pm. Nice hours. Management was fun, they all knew we was just working for the holidays.

    Cons

We had to wear only American Eagle clothes. I ended up having only AE clothes. It’s great in the beginning then it’s like “alright I’m done seeing the eagle”

    Advice to Management

None. Wasn’t there long enough to get to know management in a different level.

I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I'm not sure if the same goes from store to store, but my location is very relaxed and flexible. They make being a student with multiple jobs and chaotic scheduling very easy. The people are great as well and the company does a ton of fun little things for their employees to show their appreciation.

    Cons

Managers cycle out quite frequently at my location which can be frustrating especially when they are top leadership.

  6. "Fun but unreliable"

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time

    Pros

Awesome discount, friendly coworkers, fun contests

    Cons

Credit card goals were difficult, had an on call system so hours were not guaranteed, very few hours given before holiday due to influx of new trainees

Work load continues to grow without additional office time or compensation.

    Advice to Management

    Work load doesn't fit salary.

    Pros

The company its self is awesome. You get to network with a lot of great people and learn a lot about the retail world

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very generous discount on clothes.

    Cons

Room for growth is based on your relationships with senior management. Not merely on skill set.

Management retaliates when you call in sick or call out.

Company doesn't believe in work/life balance and gives those who are favored better hours which are normal business hours to whoever they like and leave the unfavored person shifts that end at midnight.

    Advice to Management

Invest in real talent and not just people who you like and look good in the clothes. Real talent leave the company because of bias and discrimination. Advice to regional managers and district managers, don't take anything personal and retaliate when employees leave for better job opportunities.
