I worked at American Eagle Wheel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Selling aftermarket wheels for cars, trucks & SUVs is a cool thing to tell your friends.

    Cons

Management is horrible. The owners have run off every good employee they had. If you have a slow month in sales you end up owing the company more money than you make.

    Advice to Management

Get back to the basics of the three Ps that John E. used to talk about. Start treating your employees like they're people, not pests.

    Pros

Exceptional sales team and plant personnel make American Eagle a great place to work. Recently hours were changed to give sales team weekends off.

    Cons

Commission pay keeps changing. The sales team are the heart of the business and their pay should be reviewed particularly when there seems to be so many office workers yet there are less sales warehouses.

    Advice to Management

Changes in the recent 4 months have been for the better.

I have been working at American Eagle Wheel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I cant think of one thing this company does correctly, fairly, or efficiently... the owners are constantly bickering amongst each other and no one focuses on the company anymore...

    Cons

This company is just a shell of what it used to be in the 90s and early 2000s... they have gone from a profitable leader in their market to the laughing stock of the entire wheel industry... they were once a feared threat to all other competition ... now they are not even a blip on the radar....

    Advice to Management

Treat your people better.... listen to your employees... build newer more updated style products in the sizes and finishes that are in demand.... stop introducing "new" products that have actually been available from your more in tune competitors for years.. pay more attention to quality control !!!
Offer employees decent benefits they can afford... update your POS system... top to bottom the company needs an entire overhaul however due to the fact that i receive collection calls daily from numerous vendors .. i doubt the company has the means any longer of pulling itself out of the gutter that the late owner's children have regretfully placed it in..

    Pros

None. Used to be a great place to work before the Owner passed away and let his kids run it into the ground.

    Cons

Run away quickly.... Company can't even pay their own bills to suppliers. They expect you to move product that is poor quality and outdated, And they raise quotas and try to come up with ways to punish and not pay commissions. They send you out to push product and make empty promises to customers.
Sadly they have ran off all the good employees and mangers.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees! They are what make your company.

    Pros

Great people and and nice workplace. Factories are in US supporting other US jobs. Opportunity to move up.

    Cons

Full-time opportunity only, would not allow me to switch to part-time.

    Pros

There are no pros to working there , the owners mainly Margo have their head so far up their but , they have no clue about the custom wheel business. Their stuck in the 70's and have no idea what a good style looks like

    Cons

The list is endless , they are more concerned with paperwork and collections than actual selling of product.

    Advice to Management

Retire and let someone who knows what their doing handle day to day

I worked at American Eagle Wheel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You do have lots of freedom. And if they could get their quality up the wheels would be great. Wheels are manufactured in the US.

    Cons

Pay is not good. They promise managers that they can turn around the sales. Problems were from previous managers. Turns out they have upper management problems, no inventory to sell. Blame you for not being able to sell old outdated inventory. They use ancient technology, expect you to use your personal cell for Internet and email. They expect you to work a lot of overtime but give you a hard time if you want to take time off. They have sketchy cooperate policies on paid holidays and vacation. They have extremely high turn over in this company.

    Advice to Management

Produce more wheels AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES! Stop treating them badly and maybe they will stick around. Update equipment and make yourself look professional instead of sending your employees out in bad form to see customers.

    Pros

Coworkers are great. Always willing to help if i ever had questions or needed help

    Cons

Upper management; Corp would always micromanage. Operating system is outdated.

    Advice to Management

Try to some how increase company moral. Your company is going in a downward spiral and everyone can see it. If you don't agree with that, THEN PROVE IT TO YOUR EMPLOYEES! They are the ones who make this business run, correct?

I have been working at American Eagle Wheel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are no Pros to this company. I'm only writing in becuAse it won't let me post otherwise. Stay clear. Unless you like being demoralized , under paid and mistreated

    Cons

Where do I start. Let's start with the product itself. Inferior wheels or outdated. Pick one. I'm embarrassed to say I work for this company. As a manager your fighting everyday to get sales. Why you ask? Corp. Seems like the owner doesn't want you to succeed. She has no knowledge or how big business works. She calls and demoralizies her employees. Everyone fears for there job but no one respects her. Which is sad.

    Advice to Management

Honestly to the Owner( margo furcolow) this isn't a bashing session. I love working here and thought I could really make my warehouse a top warehouse. But after all the obstacles that we have to go thru. It's not worth it. I can make more working at a gas station without having a tyrant at my back barking like a ravenous dog. It's sad. The owner was a great man and is probably turning in his grave when he sees want you have done to his company.
