I worked at American Eldercare (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co workers and supervisors were the best.

    Cons

It was sold to Humana as the Medicaid Reform came into place. The office grew from a group of 10 to about 40 people. The company did not seem to be organized or ready for such a change.

    Advice to Management

consider well the good employees they have.

I worked at American Eldercare (More than a year)

    Pros

Family like working environment. Very good working atmosphere. Everyone got along for the most part. There were a few personality conflicts which would be expected in an office that size.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations/workloads placed on care managers

Good Benefits. The job itself is great.

Micromanaging idiots who are supervisors. Too many tasks for the care managers. Specialists needed to reduce the workload.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

    Pros

No pros that I can even think of.

    Cons

Management treats their staff members horribly and also tries to pit staff members against each other.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing and do properly supervise your employees. How about treating you staff members with the proper respect they so do deserve.

    Pros

Co workers were wonderful. The members were very appreciative of the work that the care managers did for them. Was able to work remote or from the field.

    Cons

Supervisors are unexperienced about the duties of the care managers. Health Insurance was very expensive even though the company is owned by Humana. Micro management on behalf of the upper management made it a very difficult work environment an morale was very poor within the office environment.

I worked at American Eldercare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, decent salary, mileage, training, Ipads

    Cons

Poor management, unprofessional atmosphere, lack for care for employees , ridiculous work hours

    Advice to Management

Member charts should be in a locked room, not all over the office in a messy looking thrown together chart. Treat your staff with respect. Be genuine about your motives. Be professional and unbiased regarding how you treat your staff. Help your staff be organized by giving clear instructions. In the job description it should say "flexible hours" because the majority of the staff work a ridiculous amount of hours with no overtime pay to accomplish the tasks that they were hired to complete.

Poor training ,work over load, 40 hours is not enough to get this job done expect to work 3 to 4 hrs a night after your 40 hr work week is over.

    Advice to Management
