I have been working at American Express full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work if you're interested in pivoting between industries within the company. The work from home policy is incredibly liberal which allows you to focus on your own career or family.
Amazing resources to learn if you are interested in doing so.

    Cons

Showing up isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing.

The culture has shifted greatly from innovation to playing defense in the past couple years and the majority of the job is now navigating office politics and building internal alliances rather than getting work done.
