I have been working at American Heritage Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Work/life balance, paid time off, good training program, fun environment, nice members, helpful coworkers

    Cons

-Raises are EXTREMELY minimal even with a good performance evaluation; they don't even cover cost-of-living increases.
    -Lack of opportunities for advancement.
    -Nepotism.

    Advice to Management

Reward/appreciate long-term, loyal, hardworking employees with raises beyond 2-3%. It will definitely help with retention of top talent and reduce hiring and training expenses!

I worked at American Heritage Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to advance internally. They pay extra for knowing a second language and for having advanced education.

    Cons

Philly wage tax even if you don't live in Philly. Drug testing is possible if you're a medical marijuana patient. Shoprite branch in West Philly is understaffed and doesn't do work correctly, MSOs get entitled about their status and won't do the work of MSRs. Upper management pushes for loan volume, but underwriting is too stringent to accomplish that. Departments are of no help and constantly micro manage. Floating staff end up being screwed because they altered the expense reports.

    Advice to Management

    Staff better, pay more.

I have been working at American Heritage Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

    Family style environment.
Room for growth in the company.
    You learn a lot.
Lots of employee related events such as the annual recognition dinner, employee appreciation day etc.

    Cons

Not a good place for women with children.
American heritage must be your life to be successful in the company.
Health & disibility plans that are offered are horrible.
     Compensation isn't the greatest.

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding. Stop micromanaging. Be realistic with the goals you set. Understand that employees have life's outside of American Heritage.

I have been working at American Heritage Federal Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is involved with community. Benefits for a single person are very affordable. Fun place to work, lots of monthly charity events.

    Cons

Low pay for experience. Management does communicate changes to employees. Very unorganized and behind in technological advances. Does not pay enough to hire quality employees with appropriate experience. Company spends more money on frills for employees instead of paying for incentives or bonuses to motivate employee production.
