    Pros

I really enjoyed being a VISTA here, the people you work with are awesome and the work that you do was very rewarding

The only con, if you can call it that, is that it is a nationwide organization so there are many new names to learn and you will never meet everyone

I worked at American Legion Auxiliary full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employees can sometimes assist veterans and their families. They provide free coffee and a small Christmas bonus each year ($50-$75). Health insurance is sometimes an option. They also provide some paid time off.

    Cons

The pay is poor and it has become a very negative work environment. Not everyone is treated fairly. They are also supposed to deposit 2% of gross wages into a retirement account but have not done so in months. Current leadership is not living up to the ideals of the national organization.
