    Pros

Coworkers are great, holidays off and the shorter hours are nice. Some of the agents are great. Ability to advance within the department or go to a different department. I'd recommend as a stepping stone - not as a career.

    Cons

Terrible pay. Upper management is corrupt and doesn't listen. Training takes a year, and with the high turnover, a unit is almost never full for long. One of the systems we use is super old and creates unnecessary work. Some agents get their way, despite the company wanting to be "fair".

    Advice to Management

Pay more. Listen. Don't play favorites with the agents just because they bring in more money. Upgrade systems.

I worked at American National (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Get paid weekly and prepares you for the insurance industry

    Cons

Get tired of running a debit. Going in houses that are nasty and neighborhoods are gang infested.

    Advice to Management

Pay more for agents putting their life on the line. The debits are getting bad
