Education benefit and not much else
Cons
You are treated like a child who needs monitored 24/7. Management is disrespectful, employees are nothing and mean nothing to management. Low pay for the daily work environment

Terrible University for Teachers and Students
Mar 26, 2018 - Author in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's online so it's flexible. It's also cheaper than *some* for-profit schools.
Cons
Students who continue to pass classes who cannot do the required work (adjuncts fearing for their jobs pass them). Rampant plagiarism. Terrible pay (I worked there 10 years and never got any kind of raise). They allowed students with PTSD to attend classes even knowing they couldn't pay attention and took their money anyway.

Pros

Cons
Pay is terrible and not competitive for amount of work required. No real benefits for adjunct faculty.

No no no. From fab to bust with new leaders
Jul 23, 2017 - Instructor in Remote, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Health insurance and matching 401k Migrated to Sakai, a relatively straight forward system after you learn the tips and tricks The students (most) work hard
Cons
Management. A couple short years ago, instructors and adjuncts were analyzed on their teaching ability. I was told full time also have to conduct research. When I left, it was so micro managed and instructors were so attacked with passive-aggressive messages that many of us felt our jobs were constantly under threat. Faculty are evaluated on items they did not know they would be evaluated on Less emphasis on teaching than anything else. Cost cutting A lot of meetings even for adjuncts Pay is not very good anymore Management feels out to get you instead of in your corner to teach students. It's become very political and appears some folks are trying to prove their worth by firing people or getting people to resign, like me. Student count is down and management seems to be grasping at straws. The job became so depressing I had to go.

Pros
Interesting to learn about the state of the military through knowing the students
Cons
Pay is little and non sensical. 60 per student who completes a course. 70 per student who starts it. Being paid by the student like this, you never really know how much you will be earning week to week or month to month. No benefits. Expectations change with each rotation at the top and no increase in pay although continual addition of tasks
