    Pros

I did not find any. I do not even put this on a resume because I am embossed to be associated with this organization.

    Cons

Long long hours, Leaders not addressing problems. Harassment by volunteers and leadership. Broken promises. No respect. Do not practice mission statement or stated values. Donations do not stay in the local community.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house

I worked at American Red Cross full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, benefits and company values

    Cons

No work/life balance. Front line staff all have different motives and would do better of they were on the same page.

    Advice to Management

Management need to cut ties with the bad seeds, theyre lowering staff morale and company values. They need to continue to hire and promote good staff.

I worked at American Red Cross full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Shift differentials make up for the lack of reasonable pay.

    Cons

For the level of difficulty of the position, the base pay is unacceptable. You could possibly be working unsupervised and alone while doing an amount of work made for two workers. Don't forget, people's lives are hanging in the balance as you shoulder a two-worker load. Don't miss a step or someone could die because of it.

    Advice to Management

Look further into the starting base pay of the position. $13.50 hourly is pennies when thinking of the urgency of the work and difficulty of the position. Have a training plan for new hires. For this position, only a month of training should be necessary. To hear that some co-workers went through five months or more of training is ridiculous.

I worked at American Red Cross full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing at all. This place is horrible to work at and you WILL regret it. The employees drop like flies.

    Cons

Horrible hours. The schedule will tell you your shift will end at 3, but in reality, you won't be leaving until 6 or 7 and you'll have to show up for your next shift at 6 am. No work-life balance at all which put a huge strain on my relationships. Along with the hours, you will receive poor compensation. Expect to work 5-6 days a week, mostly 10-12 hour shifts, and receive a paycheck under $1,000. They will deny any and all time off requests you put in, EVEN FOR DOCTOR VISITS, because they're severely understaffed. The hiring process was a complete disaster. They lost my paperwork a good 3-4 times which results in you filling out the same forms over and over again. Very disorganized. The turnover rate for this job is insane and if you work here, you will understand why. Take this as a warning, DO NOT WORK HERE, YOU WILL BE SORRY.

    Advice to Management

None. This place is beyond repair.

    Pros

Pleasant, open, consistent training, flexible, rewarding. Upper management is very welcoming. You never feel out of place from the start.

    Cons

I would have to say that the only concern would be that the part time positions may need to be re-evaluated and possibly moved to full-time.
