I worked at American Road Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They offer good discounts on merchandise. The main Dealership is a centralized location and the relaxed dress code is a plus.

    Cons

Orlando Harley Davidson is the most unprofessional and hostile work environments I've ever encountered. The owners lead through fear and a "what have you done for me lately" philosophy. They cultivate an environment that creates fear amongst employees. They have no problem aggressively recruiting talent from other companies, then firing those employees 6-8 months later. Owners like to blame people who they've fired for mistakes due to their poor leadership and bad business decisions.
Senior Leadership are mere puppets and don't mind selling their soul to keep their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Employees are not disposable. They are smart and valuable people who are good at their jobs. Let them do their jobs and treat them with respect.

I have been working at American Road Group full-time

    Pros

They give you a decent discount on merchandise and after you have been there awhile a discount on motorcycles. That is about it.

    Cons

work in a disgusting warehouse across from the clean dealership. Bathrooms are nasty. New accounting management provides no clear direction or guidance. Little to no training on job duties. New new accounting management plays favorites and it can be isolating. New accounting management has also driven out long time accounting staff causing a high turnover and chaos in the department. PTO starts at 6 days a YEAR!!!! Unless you are desperate and have low self esteem look elsewhere

    Advice to Management

treat your long term employees better!

    Pros

The support from District Manager was outstanding. She never hesitated to offer help on ways to improve your store and your bottom dollar, and overall profit margin. Granted, she was limited in what she could do with getting product pushed out to the stores, as this was controlled by the Buy Team.

Great benefits package, although the health insurance was a little pricey.

Great balance of family and work life.

    Cons

Benefits were a little pricey. They were a little higher than with comparable sized companies.

    Pros

    Cons

    Low pay
Higher ups don't listen to ideas
A core group of people are treated better than others

I worked at American Road Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount, business trips yearly, worked far away from Orlando management.

    Cons

Operations manager as well as other management played favorites. Did not support their staff. Would threaten and post your job position if made a mistake that was not favored by management. Surprise hostile visits. Would set staff up for failure. Would get mad if you worked too much (salary) and would still get mad if you treated yourself to a set schedule.

    Advice to Management

Leaders set examples, not set up their staff for failure.

    Pros

Dress code is good. Insurance is high but ok. Free parking discounts on merchandise is ok only if you love the brand

    Cons

Dealership is ok but office near the dealership is terrible. Management needs a lesson on how to be PRO active and nice to the people they hire. They expect for a new person to know it all before they even give you a computer. Takes longer than a couple of weeks to learn a new job. I think new management needs to hired and get rid of the VPs and old buyers. Harley Davidson is a good company, American Road Group is not. Feel bad for the employees that are left behind that have to put up with management.

    Advice to Management

    Fire them all!

I have been working at American Road Group full-time

    Pros

Fast-paced environment, motorcycle culture, discounts on merchandise, convenient location, on-site parking, relaxed dress-code, opportunity to meet industry people if you like motorcycles.

    Cons

If you are a sales person, low pay. If you are in management, no leadership. If you have a family to support, no job-security. If you are a service technician, no hours. If you are in marketing, no role clarification. If you are a vendor, slow pay and constantly out of scope. Bad owners, bad managers, inappropriate relationships between staff, favoritism, nepotism, and unprofessionalism. I have been looking for something else.

    Advice to Management

Step back and really look at your goals, but also how your daily interactions affect those goals. Dig deeper on integrity.

    Pros

Not many Pros...If you are a Harley Davidson fan, the discounts on merchandise and bikes are good. That's pretty much it...

    Cons

Turnover is high for a reason. Management/owners don't care about employees and make it difficult to do your job. The staff is very lean and they burn out staff quickly.

    Advice to Management

    Let HR do their jobs.
