I worked at American Sale full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This is a family owned business and the owners occasionally visit each of the stores. This is a place that is great for students. If you are in high school, you can learn a lot of responsibilities to help you grow as an adult. If you are in college, you can build social skills with successful adults. Sales people can make okay money here. If you put in the time to invest in your skills, you can make great money through commission and bonuses. Top earners are recognized for their success. Management team is pretty good. Some managers better than most. Benefits are offered. Vacation for fulltimers. They will train you on how to sell B2C

    Cons

Not too many bad things to say about this company. There are some negative minds that can infect the workplace and those people are the ones stuck at their position and are depressed because they lack motivation to progress. In order to make good money, say goodbye to weekends since you will be working here, however, they close at 6p and 5p on Sat&Sun.

I have been working at American Sale (More than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible with time off, most employees are very friendly, very fun work atmosphere, able to work in different departments, very family orientated

    Cons

Management not loyal to employees, can be fired out of the blue for no reason, low wage-rate, it's a work as they need you basis (work not consistent), can get very clique-y at times

    Advice to Management

Communicate better with your employees, don't promise them hours when there aren't any, at least act like you care about your employees

I have been working at American Sale full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible schedule, hard workers rewarded with large commission and bonuses, ability to control you earnings.

    Cons

Have to be a self starter, salary ceiling is on the lower end 60-65 in a sales role, have to do many roles in order to ensure smoothness of order fulfillment.

    Advice to Management

Hire additional corporate help to split up roles, take advice more willingly from full time employees.

I have been working at American Sale (More than a year)

    Pros

As a summer job for a college student this is the place you want to work. The hours are some-what flexible and there are a lot of great people that work there. If your son/daughter needs a job I recommend sending them here.

    Cons

Since it is a warehouse position the biggest con is that it is physical.

I worked at American Sale part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Somewhat friendly environment.
    Can request off whenever.

    Cons

    Garbage everywhere.
    Unorganized stock.
Torn up boxes put on the shelves for sale.
    Stockroom is a nightmare.
    Bathrooms are disgusting.
No maintenence upstairs; seems like their dumping area for things they don't wanna deal with.
    Cashiers area is a mess.
Cashiers are always on their phones or messing around.
There's a stock guy that doesn't know how to wear a belt and you can see his underwear/ gym shorts underneath.
No chance for a raise, so employees have very little incentive to try hard or do their job well.
(This doesn't go for all the employees, but the store as a whole. Some employees actually work hard)

    Advice to Management

    Act like a real business.
