I have been working at American Signature Furniture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people I have ever worked with. The company has a values system that they live. It is a very positive environment with a family feel.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is the nepotism. Sometimes tough decisions need to be made just because you know or are related to someone at the "top" does not mean you are the best fit for the job. It also should not mean you do not have to follow the same rules. This happens quite a bit and creates a lot of negativity.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!! The only thing that needs to change is the nepotism and that needs to start from the very top. The sky is the limit otherwise for this company,

    Pros

They pay you every week. Management listens okay. Fund raising for Susan B Komen is a great experience there.

    Cons

They used to give out gifts cards and merchandise to high performers, not any more. You have to be a Jewish white man to be an executive, if you are not a Jew, do not think you are going to get any where higher than mid level. You are not permitted to use the bathroom on your shift except on breaks, you need a doctor's note to use the bathroom. Certain bathrooms are not permitted to be used except by executives and their families. They tell you to go to the break room when there is no break room at all. Reactive management instead of proactive.Work 3 years to get 1 week vacation. You have to work all the days and and required to work over time as much as an additional 10 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Allow people to go to the restroom outside of their breaks within a reasonable limit, say 10 minutes. Stop being exclusive to Jewish white men, open opportunities to other people. Offer valuable incentives for performance, like furniture, gift cards, cash, and time off. Allow more vacation. Combine sick time and vacation so we can combined paid time off.You are perceived as racist at the management level.

I worked at American Signature Furniture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

American Signature's employee discounts are great.

    Cons

The worst place in the land to work. Poor pay; very poor management. Poor moral. Company culture sucks really bad. No recognition for a job well done. The company doesn't give two-shakes about its employees or its employees family. It's all about what you can do for the company. You get NO SUNDAYS off for worship. The company wants you to worship and praise ASF. Expect no work-life balance.

From leadership on down, the company only cares about their triple bottom line. Be prepared to work like a slave for minimal pay.

Has a very high turnover in employees; it's a revolving door.

Management is horrible, horrible, horrible. Full of corruption. Customer service/back office support is worse. Expect an uncaring attitude from its customer service staff.

Don't walk; run in the opposite direction as fast as you can from this place. It is no place for a decent human being to work; unless you are corrupt, too.

I worked at American Signature Furniture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company is trying to make changes in their vision and values to make themselves more competitive. The are trying to provide people with better training.

    Cons

While they are trying to provide better training, they are not giving the full team the support to move the information properly to the rest of the team. They expect you to develop this grand understanding of the company vision over a long period of time, and then have your team grasp it quickly. The reality is they don't care, they just want as little change as possible. Just let them sell.

Impossible to get satisfaction from the local store level. Nothing but 'road blocks' and every reason under the sun to not be of help.

    Pros

    Great benefits. Seems family orientated.

    Cons

Management does not demonstrate sincere concern for commissioned associates income. Further, does not focus on building client base. At times indifferent to customer/associate experience.

    Advice to Management

Nothing happens until something is sold. This affects every single teammate in the company. Your understanding of this basic business principle will move you to better decisions regarding market penetration, customer loyalty, associate satisfaction and above all the bottom line.

I worked at American Signature Furniture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to meet a lot of great people, you learn a lot far as furniture go, and you learn how to become great in managing money

    Cons

The people you meet aren't as friendly when their furniture doesn't come on time, but I keep a straight face smile, and let them know it will be there as soon as possible but in the mean time do u see anything on the floor until your furniture comes.

    Advice to Management

Never let anyone see you down always smile, always know customers do come first, because without them there wouldn't be a us.
