I have been working at American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ASGE is a great place to work. Their building is new and well-designed, and so nice to come to every day. The staff are some of the brightest, hardest-working, most professional people you'll find in any organization. The physician members are fabulous, and they work to save lives (and quality of life) every day. Great leadership and super positive company culture. There are always opportunities to do something new and interesting.

    Cons

Although ASGE is a non profit organization, it works hard to be competitive and cutting-edge in the world of medical education, training and member service. Therefore, if you come to work here, you will work hard. However, the rewards are many.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great, positive culture!

I have been working at American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy full-time

    Pros

ASGE is a non-profit with a good mission, but it is run like a business. The staff is highly competent, professional, dedicated and kind. Teamwork abounds. The new building is exceedingly pleasant and well-appointed. Staff contributions are recognized.

    Cons

Staffing is on the lean side, which means long hours occasionally. But this also means interesting opportunities and projects for most of the staff.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work; try to tighten the focus a bit and not try to take on everything.

    Pros

Incredible staff, great people and for the most part very pleasant to work with. Pretty casual work environment and for the most part its a 9-5 place, unless you have to work events on the weekend. Pay and benefits is surprisingly competitive, especially for a non-profit.

    Cons

Leadership seems to not think things through very well before making major organizational decisions. At times seems to make odd choices on capital investments and personnel investments. Lots of insecurity in management, do not bring new ideas, ie this is how we've always done it...

    Advice to Management

You don't have Apple's resources, be more careful how you spend the organization's money
