    Pros

Company is growing fast and the jobs are mostly secure.

Old style management with too many leftovers in the management from the founding of the company.

    Advice to Management

    Move to the 21 century.

I worked at American Specialty Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In my time there, the executive management team made an effort to speak directly to its employees regularly with company wide meetings. They would share revenue figures, company goals, their vision of the future. I can't say that's happened with every company I've worked for. Lot of employee perks,

    Cons

In my department, there wasn't room for growth. Any move would be lateral not upwards. They have moved locations since I worked there. They went being headquartered in downtown San Diego (which was awesome) to moving the HQ to Indiana?!? They still have an office in San Diego though.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any advice for management. They are crushing it! I wish them the best and know that they have inspired me to start my own business.

I worked at American Specialty Health full-time

    Pros

    Very good work life balance

    Cons

High drama office politics, personality driven versus merit, majority of the time. If you can join in or stay detached from it, job is for you. Also, remember at the end of the day it is a business, which can be challenging for people who get into this field motivated to help people feel better, vice help people make money. Overall CEO provides for his employees and is exceptionally better than most.

I worked at American Specialty Health full-time

    Pros

Good 401(K) match. Bonus for meeting step requirements. Relaxed dress code.

    Cons

Total micromanaged environment. They say they are a collaborative work environment but that is a lie. Favoritism is rampant. HR is never on your side. Management loves it when you are a tattletale.

    Advice to Management

Start loosing up on your reins and listen to your employees. Learn to trust them that they can do their job.

    Pros

    Great people
    Good possibilities for advancement/growth
    Great people
Privately held company with a good culture overall
    and
    Great people

    Cons

Pay is typically on lower end of market.
    At times can overextend staff.
Organization has trouble staying focused at times and has too many competing priorities for developers and staff to succeed

    Advice to Management

Need to re-think strategy for salaries alongside having a good culture.
Stay true to culture that is "defined or discussed" by Senior Leadership from the top on down. This means always being respectful and engaging and showing the behaviors that are so often described yet not always exhibited at all levels.
