I have been working at Americold Logistics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for an entry level job
    Excellent benefits (Full time)
Union contract requires regular wage increases
Seniority-based advancement on floor level jobs
    Plenty of overtime hours/pay
    Definitely pays the bills
Floor level management and supervisors are fair and supportive for the most part
Opportunity for advancement and education available through promotion and tuition reimbursement
    Worldwide company with many locations!!!

    Cons

Initial training and employee retention relatively poor
Forced overtime; work six days or nights/week more often than not
No sick leave; absent days operate on a point system (Six points allowed before termination possible)
    Vacation is limited
    Very physically taxing job
Social life will be very difficult
Local senior management not very progressive
Advancement off the floor past supervisor position usually requires relocation (best and almost only way to move up in company)

    Advice to Management

Initial training and employee motivation need definite improvement. Communication and involvement between senior management and floor level associates should be more frequent and open. Company-wide initiatives, progress, culture and values should be clear and communicated loudly to all employees. Local culture and values need to be superseded by company's. Stagnation in these areas contributes significantly to employee dissatisfaction and turnover.

I have been working at Americold Logistics full-time

    Pros

Easy job. Excellent benefits. Great for entry level.

    Cons

Department does not work as a team. Hostile environment at times. Unprofessional coworkers. No room for advancement. No work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

New blood needed as current employees are complacent and disrespect management. Stop allowing employees to dictate procedures set forth by management and whether they will follow them or not. Allow more room for advancement. Need better training on basics such as phone systems and department responsibilities. Need more organization.

I worked at Americold Logistics full-time

    Pros

There a few people there that are genuine.

    Cons

There is not room for growth at this company. Once you are in a position there is a "heads down and do your work mentality". There is also a bit of a ageism, I am a younger and while I worked there I felt like I was both treated and spoken too like I was inferior to my co-workers. There was a strong lack of respect in the department that I worked in.

    Cons

If you don't know someone in management you're not looked at for advancement.
