    Good pay. Multi turbine. The end.

    Cons

    Long work days, with “short breaks”(playing minimum rest hours as a normal operation) at outstations. Extremely poor organizational skills. Operations lacks general aviation experience. Spending asinine amounts of money and people’s time for no reason. No appreciation or even so much as pat on the back for getting them out of a tough spot.     Advice to Management

    Time to come to the realization that you’ve stretched the pilots and planes to the max. One of two things needs to happen, either buy newer planes and reduce your operational instability as these planes are down more than they are up. Or two, downsize, guarantee the runs you have and make our customers happy. Hopefully reducing the fire I’m sure they are breathing down your neck. Which in turn will make your pilots...

    Great Training Valuable Flight Time Decent Pay Good Layover Hotels

    Cons

    5 Days a week of flying with 14 hour duty days Difficult customer Inconsistent operations and maintenance processes between bases Aging equipment

    Advice to Management

    Adopt a 4 on and 4 off schedule or give your senior pilots the opportunity to become home based pilots. Standardize maintenance and dispatch processes between bases. Invest in more substantive equipment upgrades and/or new equipment.

    Pros

    Flight time, multi turbine time, that’s it.

    Cons

    Unorganized, long duty days, long flights, low pay, bad management, high management turn over, quick to terminate employees, does not stick up for its employees.

    Advice to Management

    Be nicer to your employees. And when you fire someone don’t lie to the unemployment office saying the person quit so you can get out of paying benefits.

    I have been working at Ameriflight full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great company with OK pay, great training and the ability to fly throughout the US and into a few other countries. The ability to move up to larger aircraft is a plus too but a willingness to move speeds things up. The folks working at this company are awesome.

    Cons

    Equipment is getting old with no replacements in sight. MX does a fairly good job of keeping the old birds flying.

    Advice to Management

    Typical things . . . increase pay, better benefits. A few folks have made Ameriflight a career rather than a stepping stone. Increase benefits and pay will only entice more to do so.

    Great co-workers. Management makes policies to fit their own needs.

    No training, old crappy planes, bad management, poor pay, bad benefits.

    Invest in your employees. Pay them enough to live without needing a second job.

    Pros

    Fun Flying, and Pretty easy work. A bigger sense of freedom and responsibility, meaning no body is watching over your every little move. This company trusts it pilots and is visibly working hard to better the lifestyle.

    Cons

    with the pilot shortage the schedule has been hectic but its getting better. And some the winter flying can be brutal standing out on the ramp.
