I worked at Ameriprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation package to help manage financial gap while building your business. Lots of resources to help guide advisory decisions and make sound recommendations for clients.

    Cons

Lack of leads from senior advisors. Most successful advisors have a portion of their book that are lower level clients that they don't have time to focus on and should hand them over to newer associates that will give them more attention.

    Advice to Management

Oversee the process to ensure any senior advisor that is looking to take on a trainee or associate advisor has a reasonable portion of their book that they are willing to transition over a specified period of time and pass along clients that fall below a reasonable assets threshold.
