I have been working at AmerisourceBergen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ideal for working moms, those nearing or in retirement, or idiots. Not for professionals.

    Cons

Not ideal for anyone seeking challenging work that aide professional growth. My theory is they don't want you to grow because you will become qualified to leave.

    Advice to Management

As the business grows, the idiot proof system that middle managers operate under will become impossible to run by idiots. Get rid of them now.

I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Very good benefits and pay.

    Cons

Inconsistent training, no resources/support for new employees, more managers needed to cover employees.

    Advice to Management

Have new employees shadow seasoned employees and have a training team with only 2 people that do the entire orientation instead of 20 different people coming in to do it because one would say to do it this was then in the afternoon someone different. They would say no that person was wrong it's got to be this way. Every time someone different came they would say that. So confusing. There needs to be an On Call manager available until the end of program hours that we can reach out to if needed.

I worked at AmerisourceBergen as a contractor

    Pros

    Good location, decent pay.

    Cons

no direction from management- you are basically left on your own to struggle. Managers seem to get away with anything they want, even highly inappropriate comments and treating their employees like garbage with no repurcussions.

You are expected to be a mind reader and know what your manager wants when given unclear, ambiguous directions. You are only told what you "should" have done when you are being chastised for using your best judgment to complete a task when given unclear directions.

No room for upward mobility. Very negative environment. I would only advise someone to take a job here if they had absolutely no other options

    Advice to Management

Top level Management needs to take accountability and deal with managers who act inappropriately. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, something Amerisource has obviously ignored.

Negative corporate culture/environment. Change has to start at the top, or nothing changes. Surprised this company does not have much higher turnover than it does.

    Pros

    benefits
    pay is decent
    yearly bonus

    Cons

    work/life balance does not exist

    Advice to Management

I've been here 5 years now but for some reason they decided to change policy regarding time off. You can't take pto until you accrue it whereas before it would be a bucket of time available to you at the beginning of the year. This causes difficulty in planning things since you first have to accrue the time and then vie for someone else that may have submitted for that same time. Years prior I would submit all my time at the beginning of the year but that's not possible anymore. Most of the the events I normally schedule are in second quarter of year but I'm not able to do this any longer.

I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great health insurance benefits which start 1st date of 1st full month of employment. Great 401K and lots of additional coverages available even for your pet.

    Cons

Extreme micromanagement, Unorganized, Under-paid but overworked, horrible managers who are extremely rude. Management could care less if you're dead as long as you're there.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you care or at least pretend to care. Pay attention everyone is quitting for the same reason. Your employees are people not robots....

I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company offers great benefits, and encouraged hard working individuals to apply for new opportunities within the company as then became available. Diverse workforce created a really good working environment.

    Cons

At the time, workforce management current members had difficulties structuring time-off for the Client Support Reps/Customer Service Reps due to an understaffed department. Just getting a half-day for a doctors appointment was near impossible.

    Advice to Management

to make better efforts to meet time-off needs, so employees can care for the health and families.
