    Pros

    Fellow employees are like family, fun atmosphere (til mgmt ruins it for you),

    Cons

    Since Pinnacle took over they keep taking from us; cut our vacations back by as much as a week for some, we pay more on our insurance and it covers less, promoting unqualified people to management instead of the ones that have been doing the job efficiently (what a slap in the face for them)
    Human Resources very seldom answer the phone and if you leave a message don't expect a call back

    Advice to Management

    Happy employees create happy guest. Promote the employees who deaerve the position not because they are your friends. Human Resources should be more readily available. Lift the pay caps, why should your loyal employees (15+years) not be compensated. By having pay caps you have created non caring employees (why should we try to do better, we don't get a raise....so we will just do what is expected and no more than that)

    Pros

    -Best Team Dining Room ($2.50/meal, nice area)
    -Fair wages (compare wages across several other casinos in area)
    -Advancement Opportunities (if you don't mind changing departments)

    Cons

    -Management slow to respond
    -Everything has to go through HR, so it takes longer to get things done

    Advice to Management

    Quicker response time, more appreciation events to show you care about front line employees, loosen rules a little and it'll make things smoother

    Pros

    Decent pay for the job and the benefits are good but really expensive

    Cons

    They got rid of the only GM worth talking about. He was there for our best 6 years since opening and when Pinnacle came in, like so many others he was let go. So was the Agm, the Direcotr of finance and the VP of Tanles. They were the best. Now we have the revolving door of GMs - 2 amateurs in the past 3 year. Some of the top guys are so rude and this would never have been allowed before. How do you lose so many good people in the space of a coup,e of months and expect the place to ever be good again if you don't have the right leaders?

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the amateurs and get A decent team back

    Pros

    Cheap meals, friendly & professional atmosphere, easy to make friends, and fair pay

    Cons

    The work load rarely piles up too much. Managers are flexible. No real cons to report.

    Pros

    I love the people that I work worth and there is a true goal to succeed as a team. Fun enviroment

    Cons

    Starting out the hours can be inconvenient and it is hard to get full time just starting out. Could pay a bit better as well.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you are doing,but be sure to bring pay up in line with market value and the same between sister properties.

    I have been working at Ameristar Casinos part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The people are what make this company great. They really do have a family type work environment.

    Cons

    Since it is a 24/365 business the hours are way outside your typical 9 to 5.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees more for the work that they do. People who work in your casino everyday know how nasty the "casino sludge" is. They do great work for you and they should be rewarded in their base pay

    Pros

    My coworkers, yearly Fun Plex company outing, talent show, you also get a turkey for thanksgiving and a ham for Christmas

    Cons

    Pinnacle made the casino a very unpleasant place to work, they changed the benefits so now they aren't as great as they used to be, the smoke is outrageous, the guests yell at you if they are losing and beings that they are always short staffed they also yell at you for not being around enough, the job is hard on your body

    Advice to Management

    Never on the same page, communication sucks, when the waitresses need help due to being understaffed the management sits in the office and doesn't bother asking if we need anything, favoritism, they don't cut when they should which makes it hard for us to make money

    Pros

    Not to many Pros you get PTO that go's up over the years and they do have a few events for the employee's every year. They do give you a bonus at Dec time its only 100.00 and to buy lunch is 3.00 and you do get a lot of food for that

    Cons

    you are really on your own and most of the ppl are Ethiopia that dose not clean right if there lives depend on it and the pay is so low 9.27 an hour that they cant get great works to hire for the low pay. the raise 's in any department is only 23 to 30 cents a year and the cap is 14.00 an hour in EVS so no one will never see that

    Advice to Management

    needs to start firing the week worker's and give what max raise 's they can to the ones that work hard for it. CEO and other big boss do not care if you are making a livable wage they will work you to the bone and ones you are done they will get some one to replace you in a week or two
