I have been working at Ameriwood Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is Great company depending on which department you work for.

    Cons

This is a warning to anyone considering an A/P position. Your chances of being let go are extremely high. They have fired many many employees and continue to do so regularly.

    Advice to Management

Consider people's lives you are ruining. Don't think that your actions won't bring you bad Karma because you're business oriented.

I worked at Ameriwood Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some good hard working people trying to do the right thing at the hourly and salaried levels, but there is...

    Cons

..A shroud of not caring for people. People come and go quickly. You either match up or you're gone! No learning curve. Unscrupulous business practices. 'Nuff Said!

    Advice to Management

Put some money back into operations and stop looking for fire sales or e-bay to buy spare parts.

I worked at Ameriwood Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - There are a few good people, but most of the good ones don't stay.
    - The pay is decent for Wright City, MO, but not worth all the aggravation that comes with the job.

    Cons

    - Back stabbing runs rampant.
    - For such a small company, a lot of affairs and hook-ups happen that everyone seems to know about. Makes for some akward moments in the office.
    - Horrible culture.
    - None of the leadership genuinely cares about the employees. No empathy. No concern. Just work and do what they tell you to do.
    - Break room microwave is rusted on the inside. The company won't even spend $50 on a new microwave.
    - Old printer/copier breaks down weekly.
    - Computer systems from the 1980's that are constantly down.
    - The basement is a dungeon - dark, damp, moldy. If your cube is downstairs, hopefully you don't have any allergies or respiratory issues.

    Advice to Management

The same people have been running the company the same way for 25 years. Give others some hope. Engage your employees. Show some concern and empathy. Love a little.

    Pros

To have a job. Pretty laid back. Moderate standards. You can screw up a lot and still not get fired.

    Cons

Shaky financials, uninspired leadership, 1980s technology, 1880s management philosophy, dirty plants, lame products

    Advice to Management

Quit. Market share and are flat to negative for years. You keep people around who should have moved on long ago.
