    Pros

Great pay and benefits with a great culture on the inflammation side of the business. Management care about employs generally speaking.

    Cons

Company is slow to implement and innovate marketing versus competitors. Extremely conservative and a attitude we are the best so we don't need to be more patient friendly versus the competitor.

    Advice to Management

Increase your retention by paying more aggressively your top talent. There is a reason people leave and it's because job hopping increases salaries. Competitors are constantly poaching top talent from Amgen.

    Pros

Beautiful campus with renovations to support an open work environment (no offices or cubicles). Good technology to support communications and lots of opportunities to receive training.

    Cons

Competitive atmosphere with low morale due to reorganization and lay offs. Constant churn of healthcare professionals in product leadership positions and even those at the highest levels of the company.

    Advice to Management

Inspire your employees. Provide some stability. Stop the churn.

    I worked at Amgen full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, very scientific and nice location. It attracted great talents company wide. People loved to work for the company and believed in its science.

    Cons

Too many restructuring. Also lots of lay offs when I was there. I hope things have got better. Too many meetings without any purpose.

    Advice to Management

Hire judiciously. Build career and stabilize job. People would get encouraged to contribute. Some mid level old timers need to go.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Amgen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great variety of resources available for manufacturing and development. Very impressive facilities at most sites.

    Cons

Amgen is probably too big to be an efficient entity. There is a ton of corporate red tape and bureaucracy, and makes you long to work at a smaller, more nimble organization.

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure that they would listen, that's another issue.
