    Pros

Great benefits, excellent team wok environment and the company takes great care of their employees

    Cons

Very easily to get written/ terminated if you exceed sick time. You're pretty much a robot because you barely have time to go the bathroom since they are very strict with off phone time.. not much room for growth

    Cons

Hopefully salary will increase considering you are required to have a four year degree for the job.

I worked at Amica Mutual full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good starting pay for part-time employees ( I started part-time)
Blue-collar employees are good people and are a "family"
    A lot of paid holidays
    Bonus check at years end
    Good 401k investors
On site cafeteria with good prices

    Cons

Limited to 4 sick days a YEAR unless you use FMLA (otherwise it is counted against you at year end for pay)
White-collar employees see themselves as "better" than the blue-collar employees
Management sees you as a number not a person or employee.
WAY to many middle/lower management compared to actual workers
Double talk is their thing here. They will tell you one thing and do another.
They do not hire local, they hire from India for tech because its cheaper.
Cliques run this company and would rather have a silent employee than a employee that speaks up.
Undervalued salaries unless you are in CORE business (ie: accounting, management, T&D, anyone in 100 building, SOME insurance agents.)

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees with respect and promote employees on skills and talents not how good they play politics or if they have family in the company.

I worked at Amica Mutual part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good pay for students.
Good people. You can make many good friends here and form lifelong friendships with co-workers. It is a nice community to be apart of.

    Cons

There was a management change at the end of my career at Amica and in my experience and it was not for the better.
The new management looked at employees as numbers and not people.
They promised many things that never resulted in anything.
Became unflexible for student schedules (used to be extremely flexible).

    Advice to Management

Be more personable, care about all your employees, not just some.

I have been working at Amica Mutual full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Benefits.
    - Vacation time.
    - Good to start career but not to stay.

    Cons

A lot of things are wrong in this company, but here are a few (each don't even cover the full extent of it either) -

    * Favoritism - it's REALLY bad, a lot of useless people get hired because they know someone but have no idea how to do their job. I have seen a lot of good employees get passed on promotions and those promotions given to people who should get fired but don't because they are friends or son/daughter of someone else in the company. These same people later on get lazy and eveyone else needs to cover for them (even more). It's frustrating.

    * Bad management - Too many lazy people and no one says anything. Amica over work their best workers while others just sit there doing basically nothing.

    * Company culture - it's bad. It's the "Amica Way" or the highway, even if it's wrong. This is not a place for forward thinking. It's very antiquated, among other things.

    * Tenure mentality - people who have been in the company for a lot of years usually have this mentality that they are untouchable. It's like they can do no wrong. They get lazy and a lot don't know how to use a computer that well or care to learn.

    * No accountability for bad employees.

    * They over work you without a salary change to reflect on new responsibilities. I was giving supervisor-like responsibilities and have been performing them for about a year and a couple of months now. Management is really happy with how I have handled things blah blah blah. I have asked for a salary/title change numerous times without anything hapening. Last time I was told I would have to wait 1 to 2 more years for it to go through but meanwhile I'm still to perform all supervisor-like responsibilities I was giving on top of all my regular job duties like I have been doing in the past year.......... I'm not the only one this has happened to either. This company is a joke.

There are a lot more things wrong with Amica but I have already made this long enough. I'm planing on leaving within the year anyway.

    Advice to Management

    - Make lazy/bad employees accountable.
    - Useless people need to be fired.
    - Stop so much hiring of sons/daughters/friends of people working or who worked here. A lot don't know what they are doing, only get in because they know someone.

Too much needs to be done. I don't think I would have enough space to go into detail.

I worked at Amica Mutual as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great culture and people to work with, very nice campus/ office.

    Cons

Interning in summer months, sometimes work is limited.

I have been working at Amica Mutual full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smaller claim load than other big-name insurance companies, good stability, good benefits, great networking opportunities, easy to advance if you network well

    Cons

Amina is smaller than you think.

I don't feel like I'm doing significant work, but that is more of a comment towards claims in general.

I have been working at Amica Mutual full-time

    Pros

Culture! Sounds cheesy, but definitely a family. Salary and benefits are above many of my peers at this point in their careers, and I can live a comfortable lifestyle. Flexible with time - if you put in the work, they'll work with you. Ample opportunities to challenge yourself if you are willing to work hard. CEO is awesome.

    Cons

Growth can become stagnant the less willing you are to move to other branches.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more willing to let new management experiment with ideas
