    "Great Employees; So-So upper management"

I have been working at Amobee full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The individual employees who are working the trenches are great people, and want to do the right thing. There are always outliers to that statement, but that's true of every company. Lots of the individual offices have a pretty good culture of having fun. (The culture of work is completely different). Many of the managers/senior managers are decent, but they have to do more with less.

    Cons

The upper management & executive team could be a lot better. They expect you to do "More With Less" and work "More efficiently" -- they can't or won't fill job reqs if someone leaves unless you're in certain KEY areas like engineering. There's a lot of date driven work from upper management, instead of actually taking the time to do something RIGHT, so instead, shortcuts solutions are more often the norm than... not, then they fix it later. So, lots of technical debt in engineering and frustration from customers. Also, they can't or won't hire senior people. Is this a matter of just can't afford it? Or won't afford it? There's lots of people where this is their 1st or 2nd job or who are about "mid-level". People come here to get some work experience then go on to greener pastures with better compensation packages. Then there are those who rise to their level of incompetence and then STAY there. The CEO is akin to the cheerleader who shows up to the quarterly games rooting for the team...all fluff, no substance. It's painful to watch her during meetings.

    Advice to Management

Add more senior people to the teams to help provide direction, or just HIRE people...raise the compensation packages if you have to, especially now that the job market is hot especially in Silicon Valley!!

I worked at Amobee full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are some really, really great people who work here. Smart, driven and collaborative. I do think the company is headed in a good direction and they'll be on an uptick, this is in no thanks to the C level people. The next step down (VPs, etc) are working so hard to make this a successful company and attempting to bridge the gap between employees and execs, it's really a shame watching the execs run rampant.

    Cons

C level people ruin it, they're so out of touch with the company and what's going on it's the biggest disconnect I've ever seen between C level people and the rest of the employees. The direction of the company changes constantly, each month it's a new 'innovative' approach they're going to take. The all hands feel like a gameshow, nothing of substance comes from the meeting and shows just how disconnected they are.

    Advice to Management

Get a grip. Spend some time with your employees to actually understand what it is your company is doing. Less time self promoting your brands making videos that show you getting out of a Bentley into a private plane and more time working on the company.

I worked at Amobee full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company is very successful and has good leadership. Some great people work there.

    Cons

There are also some not so great people that work there and the environment is cliquey, sort of feels like high school.

    Advice to Management

I'd advise that the managers help the new people and people who have been there for only a couple of years understand what an appropriate future career path looks like at the company and in marketing in general.

I have been working at Amobee full-time

    Pros

    Some great people. Great technology.

    Cons

A lot of not great people. A lot of favoritism, primarily at the executive level [i.e. someone can be the SVP of nothing.] Company meetings are a lot of talk but the words don't actually translate into real purpose or meaning. The benefits that remain (or will remain) are lunch if you're in Redwood City and little else above standard health insurance. Post acquisition culture is not going well, there is a lot... of work to be done here that nobody is really working on, or looking to truly fix. There is a culture of micromanagement trickling down from execs that does not promote happy, and empowered employees.

    Advice to Management

If you don't live and breath real, healthy values, the culture will never be a good one. If you treat employees like children who need supervision, they won't stay unless they are insecure and don't know any better.

Central office next to Barangaraoo Great people to work with Awesome innovative products to sell to direct and agency clients

    Cons

MASSIVE boys club in leadership You will only succeed if you brown nose your manager and work insanity hours Minimal work life balance Culture fueled by drunken gossip No career discussions or progression - good for 12-18 months before leaving for somewhere better Sole focus is money money money. If you do a rubbish job for your team but show your driving revenue from sales, youll get away with murder Expect... long hours

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture strong because the people are the best asset Amobee has. If you care more about the people and their happiness and progression then retention will drop Diversify leadership so its not just white males Reward good work that isnt purely revenue focused Provide more resource

    Pros

Some great people within the company, outside the management team

    Cons

    - Lack a diverse leadership team - led by a team of "bros" - they actually call each other "bro" - Lack clarity or communication from leadership team - Do not support Mums returning to work - Nergative culture of only celebrating immediate wins / feels like you are working in fear of leadership - No clear vision, it is very reactionary without any rationale - Not well regarded in the industry

    Advice to Management

Get a new leadership team Stop supporting a drug-fuelled sales culture

    Pros

A very stable job. The employer cares for the employee; offers good social benefits. Great people - smart and knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, somewhat nerdy :) A wide stack; the employer encourages the employees to learn and be trained over the present languages, frameworks and technologies and also new ones. A very interesting product that the employee have a vast involvement in; gives employee a drive to... apply themselves for a great cause.

    Cons

The environment could be seen as too work-focused and the result is less familiarity among employees than may be found in competitors.
