I worked at Amphenol RF (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company to work for with a very comfortable environment to grow. Both individual and group work required and expected. This gave a wealth of knowledge.

    Cons

Sometimes the leadership doesn't give enough direction, and interns are left to find work to do. Although not always the case, it would be better with more of a strict schedule.

    Advice to Management

Create a program centered around intern retention. THis is not the focus now and it is clear that most interns would not return in the future for full time employment.

I worked at Amphenol RF (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many good co-workers and peers. Good support and facilities. Reasonable employee engagement and activities.

    Cons

Management dictatorial and out of touch with rank and file. Do as I say not as I do management style.

    Advice to Management

Read above and treat employees with more respect, trust and compassion. Don't only worry about your bonus, pay and security, you are only as good as the people working for/with you.

    Pros

    Cons

Difficult to acquire management support, very little motivational support, very little opportunity. Very much an insider / outsider group of people within RF organization.

    Eliminate high level of politics

I have been working at Amphenol RF full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with- employees are great. They have great attitudes and really help each other out.

    Cons

Management has terrible values and is very very unprofessional. They speak down on other employees when they are not around, and also do not conduct themselves in a unprofessional manner. There is no respect for individuals and their ideas. If you challenge any direction given to you, then you are on the (GET RID of LIST). During the interview they lied about my compensation, they do not show you the incentive plan until after you start, and it's impossible to make money here. They are extremely micromanaging in that SR level managers have to approve everything you give/say to the customer. there is ZERO autonomy at this company or trust in their employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees with out respect. Give them the tools and training to be better leaders and also trust your employees more. It will make them work harder for you. Compensate them for the work they do and stop taking advantage of younger people out of college by hiring them at EXTREMELY low low salaries.

I have been working at Amphenol RF (More than 3 years)

    Pros

401k match is decent considering all of the cons.

    Cons

No employee appreciation = high turnover naturally, no surprise there. No resources put into employee training of any kind, very old outdated computer programs and management techniques. Very lean operation that leaves the employees to lose. Very low employee moale.

    Advice to Management

Stock price does not reflect a high employee morale. Get over yourself and put more resources into the most important asset in the whole corporation.

  9. "Lack of Employee Appreciation"

I have been working at Amphenol RF full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A few really great people to work with that seem to hold the company together.

    Cons

When you make it 5 years and you are considered a "survivor," you know there is a problem. High employee turnover rate. Low salary with a great deal of overtime. Constant lay offs (3 rounds in 5 years). Lack of employee appreciation. No training. No room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Get over your pride. It's just about the numbers. Your employees are your greatest asset. Value them! Put resources into training. Learn about every aspect of the company, not just the front end. Create a realistic budget and don't be so quick to lay people off just because your sales team was a bit over optimistic.

    Pros

A lot of responsibility, Great employees, Work expectation is high but can be managed without too much overtime, are able to work on a global scale and work in teams toward meeting customer goals.

    Cons

Low potential to grow quickly, certain positions are understaffed causing a delay in results, lack of flexibility in work and benefits.

    Advice to Management

The employees are the company's greatest strength, give them more flexibility and the ability to grow.

    Pros

    High energy workplace
    Very dedicated employees
    Leading edge technology work

    Cons

Rather than make a comment, I'll let the facts speak for themselves. Since 2009, Amphenol RF has lost (out of a total of roughly 120 employees) 5 Regional Sales Managers, 3 National Sales Managers (1 about every year, they are now looking to fill number 4), 2 Distribution Sales Manager, 2 Marketing Managers, 1 National Marketing Manager, 3 Customer Service Representatives, 2 Senior Quality Managers, 1 Purchasing Manager and roughly 13 manufacturing employees. Most of the manufacturing jobs were layoffs, the rest were voluntary.

    Advice to Management

Greater focus on valuing employee contribution and improve morale.
