I worked at Amphion Medical Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to work at home, flexible schedule

    Cons

This is THE WORST company to work for. I had a high paying transcription job through a well known hospital and when they chose to eliminate their transcription department I followed the hospital's work to Amphion. Biggest mistake ever! It started out decent enough but as soon as they merged with iMedX the pay and benefits went downhill big time. I made more money working 20 hours at my part time job than I did working full time for Amphion. Out of the blue they informed me that I wasn't producing enough (my stats had stayed the same for well over a year prior to them doing anything) and dropped my status to Independent Contractor which meant I got paid less, lost my benefits and within a month they had terminated all of their independent contractors. I never felt valued as an employee and hated every minute working there. Avoid working for Amphion like the plague!!!!

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your employees, offer them better pay and benefits.

    Pros

    Advice to Management

Value employees, cut out the slave labor and outsourcing overseas

I have been working at Amphion Medical Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked for iMedx (formerly Amphion) for over 2 yrs now and I have been extremely happy with them. Wonderful people that support you and know how to work as a team. I hope to stay with them for as long as possible. Although it seems that work is running low, which might soon leave me without a job. I'll be very disappointed if I have to leave and work anywhere else. They pay is good in comparison to most companies and there is PTO, holidays & health benefits.

    Cons

Health benefits are very expensive and not much options. Frequently go through slow periods where there is little to no work. But they try very hard to get you a back up account to work in, which helps a lot. My only really "con" is poor communication. I often won't get replies from management or team lead and feel like I'm left to figure things out on my own. There will be changes made, but no one communicates it.... so you end up finding out by by happenstance. I didn't used to be this way when it was Amphion.

    Advice to Management

Better communication. Especially when working remotely, communication is key!

I have been working at Amphion Medical Solutions full-time

    Pros

There are no good reasons to work for this company anymore.

    Cons

Amphion no longer exists. iMedX upper management getting rich off the labors of the rest of us. There is not an ethical bone in this company.

    Advice to Management

    Get a conscience.

    Pros

    Good and friendly QA staff.

    Cons

Worked on Triton transcription platform, not the best speech rec editing platform out there, but it was okay. The worst was I was NOT told before I was hired that pay would be WITHOUT spaces, this makes a huge difference in your pay. I only learned this when I started training. The pay is terrible, but throw in no pay for spaces and it is not a living wage. I think there were probably good supervisors there, but mine was not one of them, a nasty person. I left due to the low pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Be very clear in your communication about your pay scale BEFORE the MT is hired. Give training to some of your managers on their communication skills.
