I worked at Ana G. Méndez University System full-time

    Pros

At the time, great salary for the position I had.

    Cons

None of their procedures were in writing at the time and it was very hard to train staff without it. The president of AGMUS was arrogant and mistreated the campus employees to the point that people used to have anxiety attacks, miscarriages and more. The environment was not pleasant and students could sense the tension in the campus. The campus director at the time knew nothing about education and what needed to be done...

    Advice to Management

I would doubt that "Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez" has not idea of what negativity that the President of AGMUS brings to the company and it would be in their best interest to the company.

I have been working at Ana G. Méndez University System part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Ability to interact with students and influence their career paths. Also, you are teaching language in addition to the core skills.

    Cons

Incompetent Management. Adjunct Professor has salaries ($1,800 per section) are way below market. Academic degrees, experience, and course demands are not taken into consideration when calculating compensation. Same pay for graduate and undergraduate courses. When you sum up all the contact hours and divide by compensation, the hourly rate is well below minimum wage. If you have less than 8 students, you get paid $225...

    Advice to Management

Upper management should compensate professors fairly. The job is challenging and specialized. Plus there should be a differential for teaching a graduate class vs an undergraduate classes. Fairly compensated professors are encouraged to go above and beyond and return.

I worked at Ana G. Méndez University System

      Pros

There are no pros to working here.

      Cons

I have worked as an Adjunct Faculty member in other universities, and this has been THE worst place to work. Incompetent and deceitful management. Very unprofessional and unethical place to work at. They make horrible payment mistakes and they don't take into consideration knowledge, experience or skill. No growth opportunities. Employees are a joke. Their system is crooked and misleading. STAY AWAY FROM THIS EMPLOYER....
