Pros
Great Atmosphere and environment. Pay was amazing and just the overall experience was awesome!
Cons
Well, it was bought out by Oxy, so I would assume it is not the same anymore.

Perfect Summer Internship
Aug 1, 2016 - ITS Intern III in The Woodlands, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
*Autonomy- You get an entire project that actually will be utilized by the company to yourself *Access- Nothing and no one is off limits. You can schedule meetings with managers and directors and really get to know the company from the inside out. *Training- No other internship provides as much hands on experience. *Culture- They love the interns and it shows. You will be spoiled! *Schedule- You can work a 9/80 schedule--> Every other Friday off!
Cons
*Out in the Woodlands- Long commute if you live in Houston and lots of traffic at the end of the day *Pay- Might be slightly lower (like 5-10%) than some big firms HOWEVER the bonus averages everything out. *Job opportunities- At this time, oil and gas is obviously low so hiring has taken a bit of a hit. HOWEVER, they are always seeking college hires and they do intend to hire at least a couple of people out of the intern groups every year.

Be an intern at Anadarko!
Aug 5, 2016 - Engineering Intern III in Vernal, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Field Experience Spend the first 20 days learning about different components about the industry and operations through a hands-on experience in the field. Project is worthwhile and meaningful The people are awesome. Other employees try very hard to incorporate you in both work and social settings Culture promotes collaboration, creative thinking, and challenging the status quo. Good pay for an intern Drive time to office very short
Cons
Only one other intern Smaller office Not having a company vehicle to ride to the field. Required tagging along with an engineer, foremen, or operator.

Production Engineer Intern
Feb 16, 2016 - Engineering Intern in Houston, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Every single person I worked with at Anadarko was kind and treated me as a fellow employee instead of just some intern. The project they assign you is a real problem that needs to be fixed and it's equivalent to a typical project given to a production engineer. It was a very realistic look into the day to day work of a production engineer. You are given a mentor to help guide you through your work and the whole team is always there to help and answer questions. I couldn't have asked for a better internship experience.
Cons
Some employees, while great people, aren't the best mentors and shouldn't be assigned an intern.

Top notch intern program
Aug 27, 2015 - Engineering Intern IV in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I interned with Anadarko for two years, and it was a great experience. I can say with certainty that Anadarko has a long term outlook and commitment to their intern program. The work was useful and educational. No paper-filing, coffee runs, or death-by-spreadsheet...I was doing real work with real responsibility. The program is well organized, with numerous activities to keep the interns engaged with the company and networking with other employees.
Cons
No cons really. I would say that if you're not a self-starting type of person who can seek out direction if none is provided, or ask for help when needed, then you may not have a good experience here.

Pros
One of the better industry companies you can work for. Fantastic work ethics and people. Competitive salaries and benefits that you won't get in some of the larger companies Long term employees, which means they're happy where they're at.
Cons
Interns are sometimes given projects that are not always very relevant to making the company money. That translates sometimes in not receiving an offer, especially when commodity prices are low.

Pros
Loved working with this company for the summer. They live and breathe their core values at every asset. I found it really easy to relate to the majority of the employees there. When they interview and hire, they look for a certain type of person and you can notice the employees are quite similar throughout the company -- determined, innovative, and passionate.
Cons
Just like with any job in the oil and gas industry, times can become quite tight. It'll be very difficult and competitive to secure a job with the current commodity pricing.

Great work environment and people
Aug 1, 2016 - Geoscience Intern in The Woodlands, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Relaxed work environment, plenty of opportunity for breaks. That latitude to work at your own pace makes it easy to get work done while you're in the office. People on the team were great and always willing to bend over backwards to help.
Cons
Offices were a bit warm at times, especially on Monday mornings. I had an interior office with no window, so it got pretty stuffy over the weekend with the A/C turned up.

Reservoir Engineering Intern
Aug 3, 2015 - Reservoir Engineering Intern in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Overall, my experience with APC has been fantastic. I have had the opportunity to work for other companies of various size, but APC surpassed them all. From the people and culture at work, to the applicable work projects, this experience has been one I recommend to any student looking for a fulfilling internship.
Cons
Overall, there is nothing really negative about the company. I have worked for other companies and this experience has surpassed all of my other experiences.

Great company, great experience
Aug 17, 2010 - Accounting Intern III in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great exposure to the oil & gas industry, not just for accounting but operationally as well. Fantastic experience and highly recommended.
Cons
It is big oil, and the stigma goes along with it. If you have environmental friends and family, you might want to take a second look.
