I worked at Analog Devices as an intern

    Pros

Good people. Some young, some old.

    Cons

You can feel not many people are happy working there when you walk in the door.

I worked at Analog Devices full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people come from a wide range of skills. The "Fellows" are willing to spend the time fostering talent. Some divisions are still very open to trying new things. Some departments actively try and raise the skills of the team (team work and training).

    Cons

For some departments S.M.A.R.T. goals are not really understood. Today's goal is lost in the noise of day to day work until it comes time for reviews.

    Advice to Management

Mentoring managers for keeping the "paperwork" from being the job would be helpful. When your day is equally split between completing tasks and documenting what is done and what is still due... it is a drag on productivity and moral.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is great work life balance but often experience a feast or famine

    Cons

New CEO is very aggressive and a long term player.

    Advice to Management

    1. Too much red tape and politics of marketing managers and no accountability of managers who are too comfortable in their roles for a long time.
    2. Company still does not understand fully how important digital design is compared to analog design.
    3. Many managers are stuck with old thinking and don't recognize value and talent.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Stable company, global workforce, opportunities for broad learning and to work on whole projects, good benefits like vacation/health/401k, good people

    Cons

Slow moving, poor at mentoring, lower salaries than other tech, unclear advancement path with some cronyism, to much legacy business processes and inefficiencies, inconsistent management quality (middle managers at least), lack of diversity

    Advice to Management

Move faster (too much arcane process and bloat). Good engineers don't necessarily make good managers, do better at evaluating team and group leaders and hold them accountable
