I worked at Analog Devices full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great technology, great co-workers, work life balance is great - left in 2014

    Cons

Pay was low end of scale, too many middle managers, most decisions are collaborative and this causes others to take credit for your work, some back stabbing

    Advice to Management

Pay for the experience employees bring and if you call someone a manager pay them for being a manager instead of stringing them along telling them they need more time in the position, and verify employees college / degree before assuming they don't have one. Treat veterans like you treat college hires!

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Blue chip company, cutting edge engineering, impactful work, above average salary, excellent bonuses and benefits, great work - life balance.

    Cons

Still a lot of old blood, not enough social or team-building activities, some teams understaffed, not enough employee training programs.

    Advice to Management

Bring in more young blood, RSUs for entry -level employees, facilitate more collaboration between engineering and business teams.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1. Good benefits: - 5% 401k regardless of employee contribution, additional 0.75 match for up to 4% of employee contribution. - Health and dental coverage is pretty good. Vision was added this year. - 12 weeks of maternity leave 2. Good work-life balance: hours are not crazy and people are generally understanding and co-operative. Flexibility to work remotely if needed. 3. Great bonus structure: Bonuses scale... with seniority 4. 3 work-weeks PTO, increases with tenure within the company.

    Cons

    1. Frequent reorganizations, little visibility into products or strategy beyond your team, all-hands meetings are mostly 'good news' delivery mechanisms and there is little conversation 2. Employee services: IT, HR, Purchasing are very non-transparent and bureaucratic. 3. Pay is a little below average for technology jobs, I am not sure if the generous bonuses make up for the gap.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees: Talk to them, discuss strategy and plans openly. This makes it easier for individuals and teams to align their goals with yours. Reduce bureaucracy: Streamline employee services such as IT, HR, Payroll etc. Establish clear workflows for getting help. At any given point, there should be no confusion about who is the right person to get in touch and how to get in touch with them. An employee... should not be tossed from team to team to figure out something.
