I have been working at Analysys Mason full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small environment where it's easy to get support from other people. Work-life balance depends on the project. Working day can go anywhere from 7 to 30 hours.

    Cons

Bonus scheme is merely representative. Very political environment.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the support functions (HR, resourcing, finance) which are too large compared to the size of the company. Invest more on the consultants and on their personal growth. Pay more attention at their requests. Happy consultants will perform better.

    Pros

The focus on telecoms has built extensive knowledge of the sector, which is a good opportunity to learn also technical notions while developing consulting skills. Having small offices the environment is more informal and you are not a "number". High international exposure thanks to staffing across offices. Good salary

    Cons

Assignments can be very technical, work-life balance highly depends on the project and the project manager, you can get stuck on a type of project

    Advice to Management

Not much, keep it up, focus on developing revenue streams from new trends in the industry and on employees' work-life balance

    "Prestigious long-established telecoms consulting firm"

    Star Star Star Star Star
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Analysys Mason full-time

    Pros

One of the best companies in its field. Offers a lot of opportunities for international travel. The firm also offers junior staff the chance to interact with client individuals at all levels, thus facilitating rapid progression. Single-sector specialisation (telecoms) allows staff to develop marketable skills and then move into senior executive roles in telecoms firms.

    Cons

Typical consulting lifestyle of travel and long hours -- no different from any strategy firm in that respect, unavoidable consequence of client service. Part of a major multinational group, with offices in many countries, but nonetheless retains some small-company feel. Nothing wrong with that, just something to bear in mind.
