I worked at Anaren full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I wish there were some positive experience at this company but unfortunately my time there was nothing but unpleasant and aggravation

    Cons

This company is a joke. From management to some of the old workers. No training in place for new hire. Company top management only listens to a certain person whispering negative feedback. Employees complain about everything especially if you're not part of their group. Management is incompetent. Can't get product out the door. Lying to customers all the time. To many people wants to be the boss and not enough workers. You are blamed for dropping the ball even if you are not trained properly. I wasted my time at this place!

    Advice to Management

Be honest with whoever you are hiring. There is no growth at this company. Also look into the complaints instead of taking sides without asking. Try to treat everyone the same! Stop playing favorites.

    Pros

Its a great group of people to work with, there are a lot of unique characters to keep work interesting.
They provide great opportunities for people looking to further their education.

    Cons

There is a bit of a good ol' boys club in higher management.

    Pros

Decent pay with shift differential, good benefits, and great location

    Cons

Management is constantly changing along with employees it makes it hard to get great quality.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. It's very frustrating to tell 3 different managers a problem or be told by 4 different managers you messed up. Organization skill is lacking severely here.

I have been working at Anaren full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice people, all around. Upper management team also nice, caring, sharp, and high integrity. Nice benefits, including company events, prizes, tremendous onsite gym and cafe. Solid company in growth markets. Lots of autonomy in certain positions.

    Cons

Perhaps a little unreceptive to new ideas at the top, but that's changing now that the company is owned by an equity firm that wants growth quickly. Health benefits not as generous as they used to be (moved to high deductible plan), but still better than many places. A little crazed when it comes to acquisitions in that they're not always smooth transitions culture-wise or its not always clear how the new subsidiaries or product lines 'fit' into the strategy and scheme of things.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose the smaller-company vibe if you can help it.

I have been working at Anaren full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Anaren genuinely cares for its employees, which is evident in multiple outlets: their annual Community Service Day and associated employee picnic, holiday parties, health and wellness incentives, quarterly profit-sharing checks, and more. The manufacturing floor is an operator-centered environment where employees feel comfortable voicing their ideas.

    Cons

Executive/upper management isn't as involved in regular operations as they should be (unless there is an issue).

    Advice to Management

Please show your faces more often in the engineering offices and on the production floor.
