I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

learned a lot of cool techniques and making nice connections. Brand sells itself, if your good at sales you will do well with this brand.

    Cons

freelancing hours are not guaranteed every week. hourly salary could be better for the sales I do, but I would be happy with gratis

    Advice to Management

keep your strong freelancers on by offering more days and gratis.

    Pros

Excellent culture of balance work and life, no one stays super late
I saw that they provided opportunity to develop and progress
I felt welcome from the first minute I arrived for new hire orientation. I loved the way they got involved with their employees in order to make sure everyone understands how the company works from day one.
The business has an excellent opportunity to be more profitable and efficient.

    Cons

Continue to keep it fun for your employees to come to work. Be realistic with your ideas of how changes will effect your employees as you grow.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to get involved with your employees on a personal level. Employees will make an easier adjustment into the changing work environment.

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time

    Pros

Cool brand to work for from the outside looking in

    Cons

Management highly underappreciates employees and doesn't set anyone up for success. Terrible attitudes and treatment of employees whether good day or bad, great employee or not, just awful environment walk into everyday.

    Advice to Management

Get an attitude check. Your employees are so excited to work for such an exciting, successful brand and want nothing but to help you succeed so stop acting like their taking up your precious air and help them help you.

I have been working at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time

    Pros

Its pretty easy to get hired and there are super friendly, smart people working here, and the office space is amazing at corporate!

    Cons

The interview process was odd and i don't think the recruiter or owners had any idea what they needed

The on boarding process was very helpful and my manager is great

There is an overall odd environment with a strange consultant who never introduces himself and jokes about his sex life, and very weird stories about the owners and a boyfriend who works there. Lots of turnover, the president spies on emails, and is paranoid, and the CEO has no idea what is going on and has angry outburst.

    Advice to Management

Try to trust the employees you hire who actually know how to help you!

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time

    Pros

    Free product
    Anastasia herself is awesome
    That. Is. It.

    Cons

Sweatshop mentality with the rudest people you’ve ever met. Days generally are 11 hours, majority of people eat at their desks because their workload doesn’t allow for a break to eat, if work isn’t done, fired. If work is done, fired. Really doesn’t matter, you’re going to get fired anyways.

THIS IS A FIRING COMPANY. They hire people and keep them up until their 90 day review before they have to pay for their benefits. And that’s if you make it to 90 days, some only last two weeks. Do not take a risk on this company because you think you’re going to be the one to change the trend. You will be bullied, overworked, underpaid and end up without a job despite it all. A majority of current employees are just looking for an espace plan and another job.

All of these negative reviews aren’t bitter people who had bad experiences, we are people trying to help because we’ve seen how bad it is and don’t want anyone else to go through what we had to go through. You can find another job that pays the same or more and even if it pays less, it will be worth it for your sanity.

    Advice to Management

Be careful who you’re giving power to and how those people are shaping and molding your business. For a primarily female run company, fight for the women don’t break us down and act like we’re disposable money making machines for you. There needs to be better HR for employees to talk to about issues in the office without the fear of retaliation. Back to Cons—- if you do decide to make the terrible decision to work here, know that nothing you say is between you and another person, everything you say will be used against you, that is a promise.

    Pros

    Gratis
    Artistry training
    Traveling
Education/development offered will help sharpen your critical eye
    Excellent artists and educators
    Anastasia herself is amazing
    Beautiful visual/marketing collateral

    Cons

    HR is uneducated and unethical
    Executive management
    Micromanaging
    No weekends off
    Racist management
    Sales numbers aren’t accurate
    Blind selling metric
    No merit increases/raises
    Overworked underpaid
Not a promote from within structure
    Executive management is not knowledgeable

    Advice to Management

Incorporate more diversity in the brand. Protect your employees and respect their work ethic. Promote from within versus hiring all ex MAC personnel.

I have been working at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of free product. 1 work from home "office day" per week.

    Cons

As of today 4/202/18, we have not been paid out a bonus from 6/2017 or 12/2017. There are no annual raises. Sales figures are given weeks after they've happened, no way to gauge where you are on a daily or weekly basis (sometimes even monthly) You basically work in the dark. On the West team, you are micromanaged in the most unnecessary ways. The upper management has more of a "boss" than a "leader" mentality. Which is funny because they try to teach us to be leaders when the example is definitely not. There is a blatant favoritism to former MAC employees. You cannot speak freely, there is no living "open door" policy because if you speak up or talk to a coworker about an issue, you are scolded like a child. For being a woman-owned company that employs mostly women, there are no maternity benefits at all. The vacation time is minimal. The company used to be super diverse but not anymore!
Any review written by a "freelance artist", "hourly" or Esthetician employees on here do not work for Anastasia. They are employees of Coworx or Nordstrom and have no idea what it's like to work directly for ABH. If they have a good experience, it's because the Account Executive has given them a good experience.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees that stood the test of time with more respect. Offer raises and pay out bonus' ON TIME.

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a hot brand and has a lot of prestige.

    Cons

There is zero room for growth. Compensation is given based on how the owner's cousin feels about them. There are no annual raises. The benefits are atrocious. Anytime they hire someone with experience they are chased out by long time employees engulfed in favoritism. In a company run by women, it's still the men who are the favorites. Very disappointing.

    Advice to Management

GET RID OF the HR department. The women who run HR are the most incompetent people in the whole company. They know nothing about human resources, they don't care about CA Law, they don't understand the difference between hourly and salaried employees, they offer no privacy, the don't support the employees, they are not to be trusted. They are a consistent joke in the office even with the senior management. Onboarding new employees is a joke and closing employees out when they leave is even worse. There are a lot of bad parts to this company, HR is the worst of it. It is a terrible and toxic work environment. My advice is to find other opportunities. This brand has so much to learn and have no desire to learn anything.

Probably the 3 day old coffee sitting in the kitchen is the best thing about the company at the moment.

    Cons

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED about all the negative sayings about the company. Management works you to the bone and does not appreciate their employees. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
