I have been working at Anastasia Beverly Hills (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people that work at the company are really really awesome! So kind and so welcoming, so passionate about their work! Making you feel just like you belong. The other bad reviews are not at all accurate about the creative team. The creative team is simply like one great family and I had an honor to work with them and would not think twice to do it again!

    Cons

Did not work there enough to find any cons, because they were none.

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free Product! Oh Joy!

    Cons

    Wow, where to begin:
Highly erratic and childish "President", who makes crutial decisions based on astrological charts, and takes a vacation every month to Costa Rica.
Rehiring fired employees (sometimes they are fired for a logical reason, most of the time they are not).
Very little time off granted, (and you will need it, because working in this place is like working in a sweatshop).
Constantly reshuffling employees positions and desks around the office.
    Zero workflow consistency
Everyone looks and acts miserable, and toxic gossip abounds.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent, don't make judgements based solely in the moment based on your emotions. Be a good example to your employees, you don't need to take a vacation every month, it sets a terrible example and is poor for morale.

    Tons of opportunity
    Artistry development
    Hands on training with Anastasia
    Direct access to corporate team
Open atmosphere with VP and up
    Family like environment

    Cons

    Could have better benefits
    More PTO would be nice

    Advice to Management

Continue to add structure to a brand that heavily needed it.

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Product, and skills you NEVER knew or were told you needed.

    Cons

Mean, judge mental and gossipy people.
There is 1 person who works here in particular who is literally one of the most vile humans I’ve ever met. It’s the most bizarre place to work, it’s like something out of a nightmare. The crazy stuff that happens, I wish I made it up.

    Advice to Management

Just do it all yourselves since you seem to hate everyone.

    Pros

Stable and Lucrative position in the Entertainment Field

    Cons

Need a new challenge in a new industry

    Advice to Management

I want to work in a more luxurious office

    Pros

    Free makeup. Not much more.

    Cons

Immature management. Mean girl mentality. Promotions based on the amount of brown nosing you’ve done. More than half of the products aren’t good and don’t sell. Benefits are a joke. No maternity leave. Discouraged from having a family. Travel out of state is 50-75%.

    Pros

Good Pay that is all....groundbreaking, I know!

    Cons

Not Worth it...Slave Driver without an ability to think employees actually have lives outside of work & Backstabbing Management

    Advice to Management

Know the people who truly work for the brand and cultivate positive action. Unfortunately the management reading this will overlook what’s really important and are very likely to joke about it and gossip at the office while moving on with what they do best by cultivating negative feedback like all these Glassdoor former employees.

I worked at Anastasia Beverly Hills full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only pro is new products when they launch.

    Cons

    - Management acts on favoritism, if they love you you’re set but don’t get comfortable. Their favorites change rapidly.
    - No work life balance what so ever. Love your friends and family? Significant other? Cat? Dog? Say goodbye because you’ll never see them.
    - You’re just a $ to them, something horrific and traumatizing can happen to you and they will not give you time to handle the trauma. 1/2 a day and then they need you back making them $$$.
    - The Education Team is a joke now, with new management taking over and changing the company into somewhere where they will just hire and promote their friends.
    - They say loyalty is everything but they treat senior loyal employees like they’re trash which inevitably leads to everyone quitting.
    - Some of the “favorites” get more artistry training than others
    - They Look down on gossip yet EVERYONE in upper management is like a group of Mean Girls and gossips constantly
    - You can’t trust anyone. Every person only cares about themselves
    - You can even relocate or take on more territory to show loyalty and commitment and at the end of the day it means absolutely nothing.
    - No raises until 2+ yrs, even then good luck getting even a merit increase.

    Advice to Management

You turned a great company that was ABH into MAC. You brought in all the higher ups “favorite former MAC employees” and start changing the company into one no one wants to work for. There is a reason you have had over a dozen long term employees, from all departments, quit in the last few months. You say you want loyal employees yet after years and years of being with a company, you show no loyalty back.

“A bad manager can take a good staff and destroy it, causing the best employees to flee and the rest to lose all motivation.”

    Pros

Excellent culture of balance work and life, no one stays super late
I saw that they provided opportunity to develop and progress
I felt welcome from the first minute I arrived for new hire orientation. I loved the way they got involved with their employees in order to make sure everyone understands how the company works from day one.
The business has an excellent opportunity to be more profitable and efficient.

    Cons

Continue to keep it fun for your employees to come to work. Be realistic with your ideas of how changes will effect your employees as you grow.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to get involved with your employees on a personal level. Employees will make an easier adjustment into the changing work environment.
