I worked at Anchin Block & Anchin full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Plenty of work to get busy all the time, make days go fast. Everyone is nice, helpful, like every other place it is all up to you, if you treat people nice they will be nice to you. Assignments are clearly defined, they bend over backwards to help you achieve your duty. There is always fun to be had, ping-pong, miniature golf, pie-fest, trip to senior citizens center to help and serve them hot meals, bring children to work day, helping out minorities high schools students, trips to Anchin building to introduce them to the business, fishing trips, mud-run, cancer fund collection, blood donations to the red cross days. They are fun company to work for, raises, bonus, promotion within ranks.

    Cons

Getting old, after reaching certain age, you are mandatoryly dismissed to make ways for younger generations, college graduates.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Anchin Block & Anchin part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Unlimited coffee and lunch sometimes.

    Cons

The E-filer manager treats temps in a bad manner. He made me and the other temps feel very uncomfortable. If you pronounce someone's name incorrectly he laughs at you and judges you. They would compare us to each other. My friend who also worked there with me told me that the manager went up to her once and asked who is the "least smartest" in the team in her opinion. He used the phrase "least smartest" which is ridiculous and very unprofessional. He would pick favorites who could do whatever they want, and he would make the rest of us feel less. He created an environment where everyone's in fear. Awful place to work for, at least the e-file department.

    Advice to Management

I advise to the HR team to observe the upper management more carefully.

    Pros

Good pay, friendly environment and co-workers

    Cons

Manager was not organized, no clear communication

    Advice to Management

Be more organized, clear, and have better communication. Also build a team that can grow and stay permanently in that role so that management can have more support during the peak months.

I worked at Anchin Block & Anchin full-time

    Pros

I really enjoyed working at Anchin, but eventually went in a different direction with my career. I always felt there was an opportunity, especially if you went after it. A lot of vacation time and flexibility.

    Cons

Cost of Medical benefits and 401(k) match. Low performing people that want to blame the system.

    Advice to Management

Ignore the disgruntled employees that were probably terminated for performance issues but fail to take ownership.
