I worked at Andrews Kurth (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great location. Nice office. Provide pleasant kitchen eating area with lovely outdoor deck overlooking Lady Bird Johnson Lake. Many employees have been with the firm 10, 20, 30 years so lots of stability.

    Cons

Undergoing some management changes so atmosphere was a little unsettled during transition. Very inflexible about start time. If circumstance result in you being 16 minutes late you cannot just work later to fulfill the 8 hour per day requirement.

I worked at Andrews Kurth full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Four-day work week. Learned many new laws. Attorneys I worked for great. Two procrastinators. Wait until end of day to decide to work. Good perks in the beginning now they are taking away. Four on one situation. Three on one better. Some ate not self sufficient so not realistic. Not enough coverage for funneling out work.

    Cons

No tact, compassion - doesn't think before she opens her mouth. Keeps new people from working there. Can work you to death if you let them. No flexibility or caring though they say they are. Things changed drastically from year one to year eighteen and not for the best. New management has a very Im better than you attitude just because they have s JD.

I have been working at Andrews Kurth full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

AK Dallas is a great place to work. I have good co-workers, my attorneys are willing to work with my schedule when I had to give short notice of an absence, within reason, and the benefits are good.

    Cons

Not much room for growth because it is a law firm. If you are a secretary, there is really no place to advance.
