I worked at Andy's Frozen Custard full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free/discounted product; good insurance benefits; decent pay. Lots of room for growth.

    Cons

Late hours, non flexible schedules for management, rampant misogyny, constantly training new staff because of ageism (you’re told to only hire high schoolers), terrible work life balance, strict and dated dress code, need to be available 24/7 and must download multiple phone apps you have to check constantly even on your days off, does not follow health code standards of each state (follows Missouri’s regardless of location),...

    Advice to Management

Don’t lie to your applicants. The job itself is not bad but when you accept a job under false pretense it is impossible to not hate the environment you are in. Be up front about your expectation of 50-65 hours, be up front that managers have to work Monday mornings and the other 4 shifts must be closing shifts, be up front that you will get out 2 hours after close not 30 minutes to an hour, make sure they are aware it’s...

I have been working at Andy's Frozen Custard full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Half price treats whenever you visit. 15 minute on the clock breaks. Amazing managers. Carol was wonderful to work with when she would visit our store. I worked there from 2010 until 2014. Great customer service.

    Cons

Long hours. Our store would be open late on weekends (to 1 am I believe) and on weeknights till midnight. Managers were great though and worked with you to give you the hours that worked best for your schedule.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing.

I worked at Andy's Frozen Custard full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Work is relatively simple and easy.

      Cons

Corporate doesn't know what it wants to do. Free for all on operational level. They pick and choose what standards to maintain. Answers to questions change based on which boss youre talking to. No one is on the same page.

      Advice to Management

Actually do what the book says.

I have been working at Andy's Frozen Custard full-time for more than a year

        Pros

Great pay, no early hours (morning shifts start at 10am), and free treats every day.

        Cons

You'll get sick of custard (even if it does taste amazing) and the free treat perk starts to lose it's magic. Late nights. Even in the winter open til 11, and 11;30 on weekends. Some times it can take 45 minutes to close. Another con is the lack of benefits. Over a year since I started. In the interview and hiring process, I was reassured we'd have a 401k and insurance after a year of being open (new store opening)....

        Advice to Management

Overall a good place to work. Management needs to lead more, and dictate less.
