I have been working at Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Lots of available PRN opportunities
    Pay is decent
If you like to work without your company ever being involved, you'll like this one.
Respiratory Therapist (San Antonio Location) will bend over backwards to help you

    Cons

    Unpaid training
    They hire ANYONE
Little to no communication from office to field staff
Gloves are the only supplied PPE
Wait to the last minute for everything
    Terrible Scheduling Office
    Payroll issues are constant
People reviewing charts have little to no medical background
Will take a message and never call you back

    Advice to Management

    1) Communicate. Your field nurses should be called at least once a week (during their shift) to ask how things are going, and if there are any changes/concerns.

2)Hire competent workers - Your hiring process is a joke. And the skills checkoff is even worse. How can you place a nurse in the home of someone's child, not really knowing if they are even competent at their job.

    3) Staff your HQ with more people - It's easy to understand that the companies caseload continues to grow. But with a growing caseload comes a demand for more workers to process orders, charts, payroll, etc.

I have been working at Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health full-time

    Pros

They try their best to take care of the children and adults in need. (Maybe)

    Cons

They do not pay their employees for what they are worth. They hire cheap labor and that is the outcome -> cheap service.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals that have been to school to run a business. Pay people for the education they have to offer.

I have been working at Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Angels of care has flexible hours for many cases, good pay, shift differential for nights and weekends, excellent retirement benefits, and a wide range of other benefits available.

    Cons

The health insurance is expensive, communication could be better between office staff and field staff, and sometimes things move a little slowly or are missed, requiring you to occasionally request things more than once.

I worked at Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The concept of the business, and what they do for sick children and their families is remarkable.

    Cons

The corporate office!! No structure, no common sense, no knowledge, no protocol, I can go on and on! The only opinions that matter are those of the family (it's family owned, and ran by the owners daughter), or of their friends. Pay is completely biased based on how close you are with "the family". They offer paid time off, but you are not allowed to use it!! You have to use your vacation time for all holidays or you have to work!! Nurses get cheated on vacation time! There are so many rules on if/ when they are allowed to earn PTO, I am surprised anyone has any!! They payroll Dept never gets our checks correct or done at all!! Moral is horrible! Gossip and young minded mentalities are rampant! Welcome to Angels of Care HIgh School!!

    Advice to Management

Let the COO, CFO etc run the company and the family needs to step down and just rank in their pay checks!!
