    Don't mess up. Great pay!

    Pros

Angie's List pays well if you're a top performer and it is a relaxed work environment.

    Cons

There is a very short leash, even for top performers to continue to perform. They are quick to fire anyone for any reason they see fit. There is no loyalty to employees. I know many people fired for very gray issues. The buildings you work in are in awful condition.

    Damn I miss Angie's List

Jan 30, 2018 - Client Success Manager in Indianapolis, IN

    Pros

Culture, flex schedule, co-workers, team outings, ability to leave early, Derby Day, volunteering, 70 degree day, fun environment, legit ability to make 6 figures. Being a client success manager at Angie's List was truly my favorite job of all times, and I have been in the workforce over 25 years. Working there was a great time period of my life with the pay and the people I met. I really do not get that enjoyment since the merger with Homeadvisor.

    Cons

Failing product, talk time, not stable, management being unclear of changes, a lot of conflicting information, uneducated people being in higher management

Thanks for the review. We know how passionate and talented Angie’s List employees are, and it is a top priority for us to keep Angie’s List culture in place through this time of transition but there is always room for improvement. Please feel free to speak with your manager or reach out to me directly for any specific feedback you have about the work environment so we can help to address those concerns. – Tom Cheatham, VP Sales, Angie’s List

Sales - grass is not greener

Dec 15, 2017 - Sales Associate in Colorado Springs, CO

    Pros

Wasn't till i left did i realize how much i value culture over a few extra Bucks. great people and strong leadership recently brought in who have completely turned the place around. Outstanding Benefits, and we just bought out Angies list which shows how innovative and growth oriented the company is. my new position makes me value how Colorado Springs new head of sales actually Put people First - which in my new role its a stark Difference. I hope this does not change as its really the main reason i know people are sticking around.

    Cons

Tech issues - for being a tech company it is mind boggling how many IT issues we had - to the point it would honestly take up 2/3 hours a day just spinning my fingers. Also the pay is Very low compared to A lot of other companies that are in the area - this is the main reason i left... fix the pay issues and you will have better talent come in and retain more people.

Thanks for your honest review. We really do value culture so much, and putting our employees first is such an important part of that! We work hard to create a competitive sales environment, and I will take your feedback about communication and compensation to heart. As you know, we’re growing like crazy and opportunities abound, so we’re always looking to stay on top. If you have a genuine interest in coming back, feel free to reach out to us, we’d be happy to discuss. You’re right, whenever you look at a place to work, it’s important to consider pay, culture, and the people all together. Thanks again for your honest feedback. -- Greg Bland, VP Sales, Colorado Springs

    worst company to work for

    Pros

The pay is good okay not bad if they aren't taking out fees from you

    Cons

This company is only after the money they don't care one bit about their workers at all!! The only way you can stay on Handy platform is if you have a rating of 4.2 doesn't matter how great your cleaning its your rating that's important. The customer gets to cancel 12 hrs before hand with out any charge the work must cancel 36 hrs before hand because its so hard to find someone that will pick up the job on the app, 2 hrs for one bedroom wont cut the time for you some place are bigger then others. this company is a scam wont be around for much longer with how they treat there workers in a month time of working all you get is text messages threaten you to be fired because of ratings. If you have an issue with a customer you have to send a email theres not way of contacting anyone at the company by phone.

    Cons

There is no good things other then you work on your own. Pay sucks the fees are crazy and your not paid for mileage driven or gas. Customers lie to get better pricing then you end up doing a job that's way under valued. COMPANY SUCKS BUTT!!!!!!!

We appreciate your honest insights. Handy offers competitive pay to all professionals in every region we operate in. Furthermore, fees are set in place to discourage pros from not showing, and leaving early in the area. For proper assistance regarding payments and fees, you can reach us at prosupport@handy.com.

Overall has been a good experience

    Pros

I have been working as a contractor for about 2 months and I was a little concerned after reading the reviews from other contractors but to be honest most of them seem over exaggerated or false. Maybe the experience varies by state but so far I can honestly say i really like working with them. I mean there are some things that are not perfect. But for my current situation it works for me... You get to choose your own schedule/work the hours or days you want. Pay is pretty good and with direct deposit its in your account within 2 to 3 days.

    Cons

Not as many available jobs as I would like but I do usually manage to find enough to fill my week. Also maybe add more questions to the booking site when estimating the amount of hours. Some houses I have cleaned didnt book nowhere near enough time as they have never had a professional cleaning

    Pros

Work when u want to. Pay is not bad bit unless u keep good ratings it won't last long.

    Cons

To many cancellations. Not enough details about jobs until hours before actually job. Ratings are put on u that should not be.

    Pros

Awesome to be able to make my own schedule and the starting pay was great so I thought.

    Cons

Customers rating affects our pay rate!? That is unfair when a great point was made that 9 out of ten people will rate "7" when they are happy with the service, but that "7" is taken negatively by the Handy platform and affects our pay rate. I work my behind off and have never had a complaint or constructive feedback which would be beneficial to Handy cleaners including myself. My score goes up and down but with no reason, I would like some feedback from customers on how we could improve to their expectations! I only receive a message stating the job has been edited due to, "conflicting job" could it be more specific please? I like doing a great job every time, feedback from the customers would ensure this and benefit Handy as well.

    Cleaning time

Jan 16, 2016 - House Cleaner in Scottsdale, AZ
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good pay if you stay in your area and don't go over your time limit

    Cons

They do not go by square footage, they go by # of bedrooms and bathrooms. I've cleaned many 2story houses for a pay of $45, which means the whole house had to be cleaned in 3 hours. Most of the homes have so much clutter in bedrooms/ bathrooms and kitchens that a hour of the 3 have been moving/folding/in prep to actually clean. To claim a job you have to constantly check your phone. We are contractors who have no control over the time it takes to do the job, and therefore responsible for bad ratings from customers. Biggest con....who the heck can clean any house for $30 (2 hours)?
