        Pros

Team leads are considerate, empathetic, and generally supportive. Schedule is made a month in advance so it makes planning easier. Management is generally accommodating to availability changes. Doctor team is consistent and friendly. Reception team supports each other and operates effectively as a unit. Direct deposit options for getting paid. I can only recommend working here if you're at rock bottom and need somewhere with consistent hours to help you bounce back. Anything longer term is untenable due to lack of upward mobility and a toxic culture from the technicians in the back.

        Cons

They will low-ball you from the moment they hire you and undervalue your work until you leave. I have a Master's Degree, came on with ER experience, Specialty experience, and General Practice experience, and they still paid me barely above the minimum. Even after over a year working there and a couple different merit raises, I was still barely scraping by. Starting pay at Target or PetCo is comparable and requires significantly less effort. The tech team basically has free rein to bully the reception team, and you'll feel like you're in high school again. These girls are the type of mean that pervades every single aspect of your job and the things you do. If, for whatever reason, they decide you're a target, be prepared to get excluded, ignored, and generally have difficult days. Everything from having your calls for help ignored to the tech team not warning you when an animal is potentially reactive/dangerous. A girl from the reception team who left before me straight up said, "I've been here for six months and I can tell you these girls are just not nice. Watch your back." I should have believed her. Someone from the tech team verbally insulted me and bullied me in front of management during a required meeting. That evening, I notified HR and the practice manager about how incredibly unnecessary, inappropriate, and uncouth this person was during the meeting. It took almost 5 weeks to even have a vague discussion about it with the practice manager and team leads. And even then, absolutely nothing happened to hold them accountable. At so many different points in my time here, people on my reception team vented to me about how mean and disrespectful the girls in the back were to them. They literally can't even say "good morning" without some kind of attitude. The company culture makes it very clear that being on the reception squad makes you the least valuable and most replaceable; therefore, the most inconsequential to treat like garbage. Same for the clients; I was harassed, name-called, screamed at, made to feel unsafe, scared to leave the building, etc...by clients and there were little to no consequences. I felt safer and more supported working as a bartender than I ever did working here.

                Cons

Like everyone (Excluding veterinarians) in this field, we get paid poorly with very small annual raises. Room for growth, but the upper management is inconsistent, frustrating, and unadaptable.

                  Cons

Low pay, lack of organized training high turnover in front. Receptionists are more like admin assistants and carry majority of the load for questions and answers.

                        Pros

The Portland clinic is a tight knit team that is lead by two amazing doctors. The company recently brought on a new CEO that is making positive changes. Competitive wages, great hours (no weekends and leaving on time!), good benefits packages. The management team is also always there to support us when needed. Overall a great place to work.

                        Cons

Short staffed at the moment, but most clinics are right now.

                      EY

When should I follow up? I had a second round interview that was supposed to wrap up today. The round included 4 behavioral interviews with 4 members of the team over two days. Due to some technical difficulties, I could not get onto the call with the fourth interviewer and was told to reach out to the recruiter to reschedule. I reached out to the recruiter at around noon and he told me that he would connect with me shortly. It is now almost 6pm and I have not received an invite.

                      Manager

Recruiter reached out to me for a role, let's say role A, which is great, but I'm more interested in a different role, role B, within the organization. Should I be upfront and tell the recruiter in interested in B before discussing role A? Or should I pretend I'm interested in role A, and if it doesn't peak my interest, mention I also noticed they're hiring for role B and would like to know more about that role...?

Almost failed to send the test assignment in time prior to my second round interview. Getting stressed that I might have already created a bad impression. How to calm down?
