I worked at Animal Health International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most co-workers were kind and ready to help, because of lack of management on site.

    Cons

Manager not available for help on issues. Management plays favorites on scheduling and time off. Employees are monitored by camera, as there is no management trust

    Advice to Management

Manager needs to be present more. Manager needs to have more faith in employees instead of relying on cameras and fake phone calls to see how office is running. Perhaps if there was more hands on experience, employee moral and loyalty would be better.

I worked at Animal Health International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Work is interesting and engaging.

    Cons

Leadership practices unethical treatments of employees. Unprofessional environment where favoritism and special treatment is apparent. Employees are not treated with respect. Condescension, embarrassment, and inappropriate information is used in conversations, reprimands, and meetings both on and off the floor. Was told explicitly that I was paid too much by management and that others would be upset if they found out....

    Advice to Management

Focusing on training your management should be a priority. Communication skills, interpersonal skills, and professionalism is at an extreme low. By focusing on the work environment and the root causes of issues you will enhance the employee experience and create a higher quality company where people would be exited to work.

I worked at Animal Health International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Immediate co-workers had solid work ethic and good dispositions; relatively predictable and steady workload; lots of good options for lunch (near downtown Chandler); walk-in fridges offer nice respite after palletizing literal tons of product in the summer; and visiting dairy cows is endearingly putrid.

    Cons

Pay was mediocre; sales staff (with one exception) were awful -- one overbearing, one pompously amateurish, one pushing the legal limit for the sake of the good ol' boy network by selling and shipping prescription product before even calling the veterinarian to acquire a prescription; storefront brought in little unique revenue and distracted from shipping/receiving/inventory management or allowed regular customers to...

    Advice to Management

Pay your bottom-rung workers better (general advice to any company); educate your sales staff and customers to better utilize online ordering; address shady prescription drug entry practices of certain salespeople; consider shifting away from the Chandler storefront altogether.

I worked at Animal Health International full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The people that came from Walco are wonderful to work with. Not bad pay, good benefits.

    Cons

The management that came with Lextron is dreadful. Anti-employee and negative. Nothing better with Patterson. Company run by a college textbook, no grasp of the reality of the customer base.

    Advice to Management

Decide who you want to be - Walmart, or an Animal Health Company.

I have been working at Animal Health International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pretty hands off, decent pay, regular work schedules

    Cons

Management - the old boys club is definitely a thing here. It seems everyone is promoted to the point of least usefulness. Job expectations are unclear, training/onboarding is nonexistent. Problems are ignored until their too big to push under the rug. Employees are just another cog in the grand machine. Catty, passive aggressive employees that send spiteful emails to others for, I suppose, their own amusement.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees. Learn the jobs your employees are supposed to do so expectations are clear and there is at least one other person who knows how to complete the work.
