I worked at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Store manager was phenomenal! She worked well with my schedule, I was trained thoroughly, and the atmosphere with the managers and employees was great! Also, the clothes are super cute and employees get GREAT discounts!

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons! I loved working here!

I worked at Ann Taylor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great clothing perks! You get a 50% discount once a season on 1 pair of pants, 1 dress, 1 skirt, etc. The customers are better than most retail customers - it's often a girl dressing up for her first interview, someone who was recently promoted, looking for a dress for a wedding, etc.

    Cons

Compensation was low, but that's retail!

    Advice to Management

Consider a commission structure. AT is a unique brand that allows women to connect, if there was more incentive to sell, I'm sure some of the Associates would bring in more business.

Tons of growth, they care for their people and provide opportunities for people to learn and grow.

    Cons

There are not any, all companies have their challenges. I would return in the future.

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules will work with your needs. Good company culture with a focus on professional/strong women as the target customer.

    Cons

Doesn't pay that much per hour and some late nights required. Standing a lot.

    Advice to Management

My store seemed to be short staffed constantly and rumor has it they cannot "afford" to have more staff in store. If that is the case it is really bad for the staff who are working extra hard and for the customers who do not get the ideal level of customer service.

The health care coverage isn't that great. The discount is awesome.

    Cons

Very high expectations of brick and mortar stores during this hey day for online retail.

I worked at Ann Taylor full-time

    Pros

Working with Marianne was awesome. Veronica and Scarlet were also good role models and were understanding. You sell well then you get good hours basically.

    Cons

Was hard when retail was slow and you couldn’t get hours. Sometimes was a bit under appreciated since new staff would get tons of weekly hours in comparison to people who had been there longer.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring so many staff if there are only so many hours to give.
