I worked at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Relaxed environment
    Friendly coworkers
    Discounts on Suiting
    Short Hours
    Minimal expectations

    Cons

Employee discount is 50%, which is what the normal sale is anyway. Discount does not apply on top of sale or clearance. The only benefit was that employee discount applied to suiting, which most sales didn't cover.

    Pros

    -50% discount on clothes
    -Flexible hours
    -Great co-workers

Ann Inc. is a good company, overall. Your experience with the company will vary largely upon the location of your store, your store manager, and your co-workers. I worked at Loft in 2 different states. My experience in Chicago was rocky at first, but my managers and co-workers were always supportive. When I relocated, my experience was absolutely terrible. I worked with very young people who did not want to work and had no connection to the brand. My store manager was rude, petty, and micromanaged my every move. I was reminded on how to do my job every 10 minutes, even though I had been with the company long enough to know how to do my job. When I quit, I was threatened and then was not spoken to for the remainder of my employment with the company.

    Cons

-Upholding company wide policies depends upon the store manager and location in which you work
    -Micromanaging
-Poor pay for quite a bit of work
    -Lack of support from management
-Rude customers; customers can do VERY disgusting things in your fitting room
-Quality of clothing has sharply declined

    Advice to Management

Trust your associates, especially if you offered them a temporary management position

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is friendly. Discounts are great. Opportunity to move to a sales lead from associate

    Cons

Managment sets only set amount of hours when on a busy day and we are short on staff. When discounting clothes for a promotion it changes to frequently. When we are short staff, it can be very tedious. There are business processes to make more efficient. Store policies don't make sense. No creativity to choose to do the marketing for mannequins.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees. They need to be heard and provide them more hours.

I have been working at Ann Taylor full-time

    Pros

    Place to Grow.
    Transferable Skills/Experience for the future.
    Best Employee Discount!

    Cons

At the end of the day, it's a business so the interest is that of the company. You're replaceable. A cog in the machine.
    Poor Work/Life Balance.
Provided poor resources and partnership with Loss Prevention.

    Advice to Management

Time to reward those doing the work. If someone is doing extra projects, making an impact on visits, teaming with corporate, working with their peers, training the next generation of leaders among other above expectations behaviors then show them monetarily (bonuses, salary increases) and with continued growth that they should stay with your organization.

    Pros

there are none with this co.

    Cons

there clothes are horrible and fall apart after a few times of washing them and keep a close watch on your hours and your paycheck, you dont always get paid for the hours youve worked. Be concerned if you hear the manager warning sales leads about the payroll hours!

    Advice to Management

Get out of the fashion industry and go into the loan business since you like making money off of your late credit card fees.
