      Pleasant Work Experience

      Pros

The team was laid back and easy to work with, while being professional with high standards for project outcome. . The schedule is organized and working hours were fair.

      Cons

Leadership was clearly driven by upper management who was not present at the project - middle managers could be given more ownership to feel more empowered to make small decisions.

      Pros

The employees at this company are amazing and work really hard.

      Cons

Upper management treats employees like little worker ants. No regard for the workload, and care for the well being of their staff.

      People work for people

      Pros

Other SM’s are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help out other stores.

      Cons

Upper management does not take the time to get to know their people. HR does not protect leadership or do appropriate investigations and ends up leaving a bad taste in people mouth.

The worst job I've ever had in my life

      Pros

A few of the women have been some of the most amazing, productive, intelligent colleagues I've had. So intelligent that they knew better than to stay. They have all left.

      Cons

Horrible direction. The worst. Upper management needs to go away. Every team was stressed because of the amount of work they had. No one is supportive of one another, it was like a low tier sorority. Turn over was the highest I've ever witnessed in a corporate setting. Entire teams would quit at the same time. Ann Taylor Inc is so promo driven it makes them look cheap and used, but I guess that suits them perfectly considering what the clothes look like. Their attempts to brand themselves as unified and diverse is laughable, considering that everyone who works in corporate looks like the same type of basic.

      Falling on dead ears

      Pros

Paid Ok Flexible with store set Co-workers were friendly Part-time workers get health benefits Donates to charities

      Cons

Shipping was neither on time or the season we needed or would ship too much of product so majority would go to final sale clearance No immediate help from upper management HUGE pay discrepancies between employees of equal skill and work value Repeat the same style and patterns every season/year Quality has gone down while prices are the same Return policy was difficult to manage since it is so short and product moves to sale too quickly Only caters to older generation Stinky or moldy shipments Management is unprofessional and puts personal relationships over workers HR is only located in NY so it’s hard to communicate with them or to even schedule a time to talk and issues don’t get resolved Had to work lunches and breaks which were only 5 minutes and half an hour. The new manager tried to say that we didn’t even get breaks. Worked 40+ hours a week and was still considered a part time employee Co managed location with co manager for 7 months gained a ton of experience but then completely disregarded when a store manager was hired. Only donated to women oriented charities. I’d rather them focus on world hunger or a malaria cure or to combat homelessness.
