I worked at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free parking, flexible schedule, can work from home when needed

    Cons

Poor management. Lack of communication, hardly any training. People aren’t as helpful as they claim when you first start working there. A lot of senior people who been there a long time and tend to create cliques. No raises, bonuses and since senior people doesn’t move on or up, no room for advancement.

I have been working at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * Ability to work a flexible schedule * Opportunities to work from home * Good people to work with. Most are willing to help when you ask.

    Cons

    * Poor communication from leadership. The intranet provides some company information, but there is no direct flow of information (how is company doing, what is business forecast, what are future goals/plans) from direct managers or above. * Project planning & management seems weak. * There seem to be a lot of documented processes, but either they are weak or not well followed so there is some lack of clarity regarding the what & how of the work you are doing.

I worked at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to work with the friendliest co-workers who are you clients. OK job to get your feet wet

    Cons

No room for advancement Some senior employees knows nothing, think they can play politics bullying the new employees but eventually get caught up on their own shenanigans.

I have been working at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Exposure to International Projects, Package was good

    Cons

Most of the employees are 25 years of experience with the company (it should be really beneficial for the employees but not)- they think they are super smart, and criticize your work, talk back, sheer politics, no respect. I'll just say one thing we all are humans, before 25 years you would have started the same way

I have been working at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great co-workers. People often talk about the food, but I think its horrible and over priced.

    Cons

Things have gone downhill since the Hitachi acquisition of Ansaldo. It took 3+ years and still isn't complete. New products are years late. There isn't enough staff to handle the business we have. Most of the Projects are difficult and big money losers with very unhappy transit customers. Management is a joke. The US CEO has his young buck favorites which I guess is not that unusual, but others get no time, notice, respect or reward. It pays to be a brown noser or anonymous.

I have been working at Ansaldo STS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

excellent coworkers some training provided by company in office free parking and a covered garage

    Cons

Company has no competitive edge, losing their smaller piece of the pie to competitors and hasn't figured out how to compete. The office is straight from the movie Office Space and has TPS reports to match. Management is out of touch with the employees and doesn't provide support internally or externally to get anything done. The italian influence is strong and drives processes but doesn't use any of them. Raises are subpar and little to no career growth. Understaffed projects are threatening the ability to deliver projects.

    Pros

free parking, world class project management leadership

    Cons

where do we begin? HR the worst - no integrity, lack of ethics, 100% turn over in the department last 2 years- leadership allowed stalking of women by internal recruiter and blamed the victims. Also harassed disabled employee. Place is loaded with drama queens and self declared super hero's. no new products or innovation - relying on past and no vision for the future- declining sales. If you come in - you need to get highest wage possible- after that it is 3% raises and no increase when a promotion is given. What skills you bring will be the skills you leave with and you be lucky to keep up with the necessary skill sets in the real world. 50% of employees per internal survey and disengaged!! Manufacturing is stuck in 1985 with no vision or leadership. except of PM group, may want to consider looking somewhere else. PM is usually the victim of poor engineering performance or planning. Those are just some of the issues - not a place for a career but a job, one last item- extreme negative bias towards women and minorities. Top and middle management white male with a few tokens. Not a diverse high tech company- just a good old boys culture who never worked anywhere else. - avoid the drama queens and self declared super hero's or Jeti knights

    I worked at Ansaldo STS

    Pros

    The benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Most of management is a clique of people who have been there forever. They have lunches and get-togethers at the office and invite some of the staff while excluding others. There is little to no room for advancement. The communication between Italy and the US is terrible, which results in long delays to projects and processes, impacting employees and customers. Training for new employees is almost non-existent and the performance review process is a joke. There is no coaching or follow up during the year and managers base scores on hearsay rather than facts. Prepare to work a lot of overtime if you take a job here!
