I have been working at Anthropologie part-time

    Pros

The company takes pride in their employees. We are a top priority. The work is easy and fun! The girls are great and everybody works as a team. Management makes us feel appreciated every shift. The discount is also amazing. You don't have to wear the clothing to work but with the discount you mine as well. They are very flexible with hours and taking time of is a breeze. They promote from within which is good if you want to make a career in retail.

    Cons

The hours are minimal. Maybe 1 shift a week. This works for a lot of people because most employees are students or have full time jobs but if you are looking to make a lot of money then I would try somewhere else. If you want to make a career in retail. You would need another job to help you survive until you move into a management position.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing. Management is great.

    Pros

Great atmosphere among the employees. Loved being able to be up-to-date on the latest trends and work with fun, energetic, and goal oriented people!

    Cons

Some of the managers can be a little overbearing if they feel any sort of pressure. Makes the entire vibe of the store feel off.

    Advice to Management

Don't stress, enjoy the clothes, work it!

I worked at Anthropologie part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at Anthropologie is an absolute dream. Amazing discount. Creative people. Kind managers.

    Cons

There were On-Call hours, but they recently did away with them. Inventory is not great as you have to at 4 a.m, but management does their best to make it a painless experience.

    Advice to Management

If possible, give schedules every 2 weeks.

I have been working at Anthropologie full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company has your back. Great benefits, you leant so much about being a merchant, and your customer service skills become perfected. This store is a get away for our people. Lots of creative souls that are your coworkers. Very inspiring environment.

    Cons

Crazy hours (that's retail!). Anthropologie doesn't have a return time limit so customers bring in things years old that "just didn't work." This is very hard on the business.

I have been working at Anthropologie part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The working environment at Anthro is great! All of the employees are so sweet and it can be very fun to work here. I love how team-oriented the job is; everyone is always willing to help each other out to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. Also, the employee discount is fantastic, starting hourly pay was good especially considering I had no retail experience, and it's fairly simple to request off for a specific day or find someone to cover your shift.

    Cons

It took 6 months of me working here to finally be cash register trained and when business is slow, you don't get put on the schedule very often unless you can work the register. Also, the team changes a lot, but that is to be expected in retail.

    Advice to Management

Management is great in my opinion. The manager on duty for the hour is always there when you need them, like I said, the working environment is very team oriented. Store manager is great as well and very flexible.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Anthropologie full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Receives shipment frequently so the customer is engaged. Creative group of women to be surrounded by daily. Employee discount is generous.

    Cons

Becoming way to corporate and losing the eclectic charisma that made the store great. Leaders in the store act as their own HR department as the company does not have one. This leads to an infiltration of personal feelings versus professional ones. Employees get fired or fed up constantly with the lack of harmony in the work environment. Complete and unjust treatment of employees shows lack of respect by coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Become better mentors to people who are truly invested in the company and not find reasons to knit-pick reasons why they aren't promotable in your eyes. Wake up to the talent that lies before you. Be professional and not personal. Hold everyone accountable, Visual or Operational, to knowing company policy and procedure as it is everyone's responsibility to know it.

    Pros

You get a really good discount at anthropology. The store is a cool place to work in, and the customers are usually pleasant.

    Cons

You don't really get much sitting down time. Your feet start to hurt. The managers are a little intimidating.

    Advice to Management

Maybe put a gift card or free coffee or something in the Christmas cards instead of just writing. Other than that nothing.
