    Pros

Staff are over worked ,unappreciated and underpaid. Micro managed by mean girls.

    Cons

Hostile Work environment: Payroll costs being made apparent to staff in open meetings, layoffs soon followed. A final wave of hour reductions forced remaining staff to look for other employment. There was an overall oppressive feeling throughout the store. This was voiced in an opening meeting by management in reference to a 'bad mood day' had by all and how to improve upon it. While existing staff hours were being reduced new hire interviews were taking place in plain sight causing a sense of insult and unappreciation. This was voiced openly among the remaining staff. I have witnessed and been a recipient of snappy aggressive attitudes from management during this time. There are documented cases in writing from departed staff who felt the same treatment and mood. There are current claims being formed. My personal experience was documented when I made an official complaint. To my horror I was written up instead. This retaliatory claim was unfounded and has since been dropped with the promise of a fresh team start in a fair work environment. It is unfortunate that the sincerity of that promise was undone with a new complaint of equal consequence set as a closing statement in the same email. Certainly a non apology and most certainly taken as a warning. Further contributing to the lack of trust on my part and questioning the true intent of management. Her vs You. There is a public persona for the company to cherish its female clientele and give 'Her' the unimagined experience. This sentiment dose not apply to its staff. I realized that while being successful in producing revenue I was only setting higher expectations for myself. Rather than a positive acknowledgement I have been asked how I'm contributing? what would I change to improve? and how do I plan to wow for future meetings? Management was totally out of touch with the reality of furniture sales and follow up. I have found that questions were not put forth for response but rather as a vehicle to give an already formulated agenda. Meetings were one sided where participation was not required or appreciated while in conversation with management . I have witnessed other employees in tears in the work place. From unflattering observations of their appearance or unsolicited ambush makeovers to 'elevate' their appearance to be more Anthropologie. This passive aggressive mean girl behavior seems to be the norm culture. When I brought this to managements attention I was asked to reveal the victims identity. I think it would be time better spent for management to genuinely investigate, gain trust and sincerely acknowledge the incidents themselves.

    Pros

The merchandise is nice and the decor of the store is pleasant as a work environment. There's a good work-life balance. The managers are friendly.

    Cons

They expect high-caliber employees, but don't pay them a living wage. Even with the employee discount the merchandise is too expensive. Was offended that they "pat down" coats and check purses at the door every time an employee leaves the store. Shows a lack of trust. But maybe that's the norm in stores like this.
