I have been working at Anytime Fitness full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Team Oriented Environment, you are never left a lone in the dark. Always a positive atmosphere, great structure.

    Cons

Fast Paced, time goes by quick when busy...
Definitely not a 9-5, always innovating and coming out with new ideas, keeps you going with new knowledge, you must be willing to learn and grow as you go.

Fun atmosphere, great interactions, cool to see members progress. Being able to guided people towards their goals is a great feeling.

    Cons

Cleaning isn’t always the most fun. As the front desk person, that is also your responsibility. Being able to multi task is needed

I have been working at Anytime Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is by far the cleanest gym I’ve worked for and had the opportunity to workout in as well. Nothing else compares.

    Cons

Some of the members are extremely unaware of personal space and the noise level of phone calls/dropping weights.

    Advice to Management

Clear cut goals and well advertised campaigns will allow for a more diverse involvement from members.

I have been working at Anytime Fitness part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great if you like working alone, great members, relaxed environment, owner is easy going, pay is fair

    Cons

    Not enough hours available.

I worked at Anytime Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Clean and professional workplace

    - Cheerful and friendly clientelle

    Cons

    - Personal trainers are salespeople first and fitness professionals second. The emphasis was always on money and membership rather than delivering a quality training product.

    - Little to no opportunity for professional creativity. Regional management mandates using their generic interval training rather recruiting and enabling knowledgeable fitness professionals

    - "Big box" style gym. More machines than free weights. Maybe three barbells in the whole gym. This is a gym for people to feel comfortable first and grow second.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a larger free weight space, more barbells, and bumper plates. Take the leash off the coaches and trainers. Leave the membership management to the location manager.

I have been working at Anytime Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to help others reach their fitness goals and become friends with the members. You also get a free membership. Each location has a different vibe and club culture. I was lucky enough to find a location that supported in my decisions and in return, I grew the club to 750 members almost which is not easy for a tiny club. Keep in mind not all clubs are not operated the same.

    Cons

The low pay and long hours. Dealing with irate customers who complain. Its a dead end career with no upward mobility. No health benefits or retirement. It comes down to the person you work for. So if you have a cheap greedy owner you might as well quit while you ahead. You will find many owners will try to nickel and dime you even if your good at what you do. Lots of shady people in this business you have to watch out for.

    Advice to Management

Stand behind your brand and offer more tools to help clubs succeed. It feels like each club is out for themselves. We should be under one brand helping each other not be in competition. Offer more incentives of some kind such as benefits and retirement. The C2i are helpful but what good is it if you only talk to them a few times a year? Don't just have a yearly group "rah rah" meeting in palm springs once a year. Really get to know your clubs and the people who represent your brand.
