I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, work culture, get to work on a variety of projects and areas, have the option to work remote, not a lot of micro managing and you really get to own your work load

    Cons

Pay below industry average, the company is a global company so even though your group seems small and nimble, there are instances where you have to endure the pains of big company bureaucracy

    Pros

    Opportunity to learn and grow.
    Great benefits
Pay for job description was fair

    Cons

Some tasks were extremely repetitive in nature. ie. Regression testing every iteration. These can include hours of clicking the mouse in the same five check box's over and over with different test participants trying to see if an error occurs.

    Advice to Management

    push for more automation

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Working from home
The team is agile but very flexible and easy going
    Always focused on engaging employees
The bottom line is is getting work done doesn't matter when and how

    Cons

    Salary is not too high

    Advice to Management

Should invest on employees as a form of rewards,if i were in office the team outings and holiday parties should have been fun.But in working from home , almost no invest of small rewards on employees..some form of gift cards or local lunch chapters would be fun.Management should focus on arranging those for virtual teams.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Decent selection of health and welfare benefits
-Instant vesting in 401k at a good %
-If you are technical the work is pretty easy, so you can make yourself look pretty good
-Decent training, lots of access to training materials
-Fairly easy workload 75% of the year if you are in H&W
    -Work from home
    -Sweet stock purchase program

    Cons

-Sept through Dec can be miserable due to the workload, if you are in H&W
-Low pay in comparison to competitors
-Weird bonus pay that doesn't reward performance
-Meaningless raises, both rate and merit
-Managers actively try to keep you in "business unit", instead of looking in your best interest
-Managers don't seem to care about employees who want to grow career, move fast
-All tools and tech are mostly proprietary
-Tech divided into service groups that are difficult to work with

    Advice to Management

The raises are laughable and don't even cover cost of living increases. Also it has become quite apparent that my managers want to keep me in their unit, so the only way I'm ever getting to the next level is if I seek out a new position. I feel like it's being punished for being good at my job. I'm not going to wait around for when it works best for them to possibly promote me within their group.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best aspect of this company is the flexibility and diversity. The work-life balance is great.

    Cons

The only thing I have negative to say about this company is that I wish they would hire more permanent workers, than contractors. Most companies that do this are only looking for the least expensive way to get projects completed. And this does not look out for the employees.

    Advice to Management

    none
