    Pros

Casual dress code (in my office); company promotes volunteerism and sense of community; competitive salary; company promotes wellness initiatives

    Cons

Poor performers seem to be rewarded; people who work hard will be given more responsibility, but it can be hard to move up

    Advice to Management

Retain your good talent and stop making excuses for poor perfomers

I worked at Aon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Office was close to my home and school. Although I was only employed by a small segment, travel insurance, of a corporate insurance giant, I can say that Aon, as a whole, is a very solid, profitable company. Great 401k matching. Solid benefits.

    Cons

Very cliquey office environment in Jericho. Several employees, including bosses, all of whom have been working there for 8, 10, 15+ years, feel the need to bully certain new people that get hired. Unless you are a close relative or friend of someone that is already working there, preferably a person in upper management, I would not recommend this workplace. Salary was very low.

    Advice to Management

Nothing. As long as the company remains successful, no one cares about the "little guy" or will ever listen anyway.

I have been working at Aon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Logo, job description or job in theory, clients, ability to work from home

    Cons

Actual job, leadership, development opportunities, career opportunities, workplace, benefits, salary

    Advice to Management

    Get new management.

Our department in Jericho tolerates verbal abuse, unhealthy work/life balance, hostile work environment, and complacent leadership. We have had multiple meetings with a variety of different leaders in the department, and issues continually have gone unresolved. Many employees in the department, including this one, are actively looking for new employment opportunities. We have lost 25% of the department to voluntary turnover in one year and I predict that number increasing this year.

When employees have inquired about career development, we have heard the response "find a new job" as there are none in our department.

There is no formalized training, and the training that is conducted, management is not involved in any way besides determining who is to conduct the training.

Two employees have left for lesser paying jobs due to harassment from leadership and peers that have gone unpunished, or to remove themselves from the toxic work environment. Many employees who remain, work from home to avoid the workplace.
