    Pros

There are a lot of opportunities at Aon. It is easy to move around the company and take on jobs in different departments if you hit a brick wall. Moving jobs does not necessarily mean that you have to move location. I am in my 3rd job at Aon in 8 year and I have never left my office. Aon is doing a better job at recognising work/life balance, however there is still a feeling that

    Cons

There seem to be a lot of cliques and people get promoted based on who they know rather than what they know. I

    Advice to Management

There doesn't seem to be a lot of communication between management and employees and often there are too many rumors

    Pros

Interesting field, great people, great career development.

    Cons

    Stressful, sometimes long work hours.

    Advice to Management

Better maternity leave benefits. More communication from the Corporation to the employees

    Pros

Amazing senior leaders - former McKinsey - who know how to analyze and use change processes. Friendly, supportive environment. Would recommend working there for all of these reasons

    Cons

Broad, diverse set of countries and businesses makes Aon a very complicated organization to maneuver. If you are applying for a corporate center job, be sure to ask lots of questions about how work gets done and support you'll receive to navigate the organization.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the leadership and management capabilities and give more emphasis on management skills versus strictly focusing on revenue generation.

    Pros

Great work/life balance and senior management that is consistently trying to improve the company. Great location in the North Loop.

    Cons

As sometimes happen in large companies, there is inefficiency and duplication of work. At times problems are patched up instead of implementation of permanent fixes.

    Advice to Management

A lot of improvements have already been made. Keep up the good work. Perhaps a little more communication is in order.

    Pros

People were great to work with, the support was great, the benefits and perks were outstanding and the best in the industry, and it was the best job I've had

    Cons

Although they shower employees with great benefits and perks, they tend to lay people off quickly and nobody really knows if their jobs are secure

    Advice to Management

Employee loyalty is essential. When people don't know of their future, they will not want to contribute much

    Pros

great mentors help with an ongoing experience of learning what the day to day operations of the company are like

    Cons

lots of tediousness and corporate white collar boredom of sitting around while 10% of people do 90% of the work

    Advice to Management

the management of the company is awesome i think they are doing a really good job of running the place

I have been working at Aon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Provides competitive salaries, and good access to training. Many opportunities for career growth in a variety of different paths. An ideal job for motivated candidates interested in risk management.

    Cons

A very big company, so with the good comes the bad. Sometimes it feels unorganized and it takes some time for information to be communicated from the higher ups. Overall though, a great place.
