Incompetant management. Engineering VP has no ability nor desire to motivate engineers. Keeps employees in dark. Was willing to outsource our jobs to China.

Get rid of the useless Engineering VP

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Aperto Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of great technology, brilliant leaders and captains of industry (Rehan Jalil, CEO of elastica, Subir Varma, the principal inventor and patent holder of IEEE 802.16x standards such as WiMAX the precursor to 5g wireless technologies etc..) and a great opportunity for personal growth. Subsequently travelled around the world implementing projects using this tech to develop RDE's in West Africa and elsewhere, tech that has a true impact on national development!

    Cons

Prior to the .com bubble crash, private valuations were in excess of US 3bn, why not go public then?

    Advice to Management

Next time, to go from development to mass market, don't waste time and lose first mover advantage, go to experienced CM's (like National Semi at the time etc... ) and let them use their core strengths in JIT manufacturing and production to scale while we focus on our core strengths, development of the tech. win-win (just my .02, after observing how the chinese cm's and even Alvarion overtook our production at a time, ceding our market leading position!) Later, after establishing market dominance we could investigate increasing manufacturing capability.
